The baby of an Italian shoe dude who loves watches and two eco-smart entrepreneurs with a crush on the environment, WE fashions wooden timepieces from mostly scrap-wood and uses state-of-the-art Miyota movements for the guts, resulting in a unique watch that's handsome, earth-friendly, and splash-proof.
The first timepiece was designed in Florence, Italy (2010) and with the widespread craving for newstalgia and eco-friendly ethos, WEwood hit the scene as the avant-garde approach to sophisticated sustainability. A few months later, WEwood opened a branch in Los Angeles, CA and teamed up with tree-planting-partner, American Forests.

With this happy pact, the goal is to help restore Mother Nature, one watch at a time, by planting a tree for every WeWOOD purchased. In just the first three months, WEwood planted 5,000 trees with American Forests, and sets challenging targets for 2011 and beyond. Keeping forests healthy and happy keeps us healthy and happy, we like to keep our reminder on our wrist.

My husband likes watches, he has several so when I told him about We Wood watches (http://we-wood.us/) he was intrigued. These aren’t your typical watches; they’re made out of wood, well the watch band and face that is, making this a very different and really unique time piece. My husband received the We Wood Date Brown/Army watch, meaning he now has a watch to go with his collection of green/camo cargo shorts. He was excited, he likes to match. 

The watch is nice, it’s different and when people take a look at his wrist they immediately do a double take and say is that really wood? It’s a conversation piece, you will get noticed wearing this watch. It’s a really top notch watch, the wood looks good and feels good on your wrist, and was easy to adjust to make it fit his wrist; it took my husband all of 2 minutes to remove a link. The watch sells for $119.00, which is a great price for such a nice looking time piece.

You have 7 different colors to choose from and no two watches are the same, because they use wood colors might be a little different from the way they appear on their site. So you’ll basically have a one of a kind watch in a way.  And the really nicest thing is that for every We Wood watch that is sold a tree is planted. So do something nice for yourself and the environment and get yourself a We Wood watch!
