Nutrisystem Week #5 #NSNation



Well I am in week 5 of Nutrisystem . Week 5? Wow where has the time gone? I am enjoying the meals, and I am not hungry at all. I am getting pretty good with the add on’s, and it is just becoming like a second nature to me.  I know what I have to eat, and I enjoy it. But there is the dreaded day coming up… Well it is not dreaded really I love thanksgiving! But I don’t want to mess up my diet, but I want to have a taste of the day.  So how will it be for Thanksgiving? Oh the turkey and the trimmings, and don’t get me started on the desserts! I can do this… I have some great tips from Nutrisystem, here are some of the great hints for turkey day they gave me:

Quality not Quantity. If you do plan to indulge in some of the traditional Thanksgiving favorites, use these portions as a guideline:

  • Turkey—3 oz. white meat, no skin (about the size of a deck of cards)
  • Mashed potatoes—1/3 cup (about the size of half of a baseball)
  • Gravy—1 Tbsp. (just drizzle it)
  • Relish made with sugar—1 Tbsp.
  • Stuffing—2 Tbsp.
  • Dinner Roll—if not homemade, skip it
  • Pie—1/12 of a 9” pie

Eat Before You Go.

What a great idea? Have a healthy meal before I go to my parents for dinner.  I will make sure I have my lunch, and for Thanksgiving dinner I will just use the above guidelines. I have to remember to stay small. And follow the rules.

My biggest issue is now drinking the water. I had an especially busy week at work last week and I did not drink the water I was supposed to drink.  I just wish my body would get used to drinking the water. My body will not adapt. I still have to go to the bathroom constantly. That is usually ok with my job, but it was so hectic. I could not spare the excess bathroom breaks this week.  Hopefully my body will one day give in, and say ok I will let you drink all that water!

I have a new favorite breakfast item the Apple Strudel Scone, is just love the little bits of apples, it is so good.


Sooo how did I do this week? I did ok.

Pounds Lost this week: 1

Total lost: 14 lbs

I think not getting the water I am supposed to drink hurt me this week. But I am so happy about the 14lb weight loss. I notice a difference, my jeans are getting a bit roomy, soon they will not fit (yay!) but I have so much more to lose, when do I go and shop for new clothes? (I can’t wait) People around me are  starting to notice too. I am so happy about that! And when they say you look great, are you dieting? I say yes! And then  I tell them the joys of Nutrisystem.
