Disney World Star Wars Weekends 2012 part 6 (Magic Kingdom)

We made it to the Magic Kingdom just in time to see the opening show with the Mayor and the family of the day, once the show was over off we rushed to get a picture of our daughter with a trash can! No not Push just a can near Cinderella's castle. It's the spot we took one of the first pictures of my daughter in 2007 on her first trip and in the years that have passed each trip we take the picture in the same spot and we can see that she's almost as tall as the can. She went from being shorter than the railing to being almost as tall as the can in 5 years.

She's getting too big too quick. The Magic Kingdom is still under heavy construction but you're able to see Beast's castle peeking out from behind the construction wall's and it looks like it should really be nice once it's all open and ready to go. I can't wait for the Be Our Guest restaurant to open, the Magic Kingdom really needs another sitdown option for eating.

We rode a few things but mostly took it easy and had a good time. We made sure to ride Snow White one last time before the ride was closed, it's good they decided to re-do Snow White the ride was blah and not all that interesting. Now with the mine cart ride coming on in a few years that will really be a great addition to the park. We did most of Fantasyland, Pirates, Buzz and TTA it was a slow day for us since the day before we spent so much time on our feet at the Studio's.

We decided to head over to the Contempo Cafe for lunch, the Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary is a hidden gem it's the best counter service spot in and around the Magic Kingdom. The different selections of food are great and you've got the Monorail wooshing over your head while you eat, it's like Chef Mickey's without the towel waving. From there we cabbed it back to POFQ to get relax and get ready for dinner at Kouzzina.

Aww reading about your trip takes me back to when I was a kid and we went :) It's definitely way different from when I went!
Thanks for helping me relive those memories!!

Our hidden gem restaurant at Contemporary is Wave. We love to monorail over there, cool down, have a relaxing dinner, maybe a grown up drink, and return to the park refreshed.

We went to Disneyland this past August...first time for our (nearly) three-year-old! We LOVED it, although most of the "indoor" rides scared him...even kid faves like Peter Pan. We stuck to outdoor rides (Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, and Tom Sawyer's Island- which was a huge hit)!
