As I sit here writing this review in my air conditioned living room it’s still summer and it’s still hot outside. But it’s never too early to prepare for what I dread…..the winter! Winters in the Northeast can be miserable, brutal and just all around yucky. When the temps start to drop you have to be prepared and that being said my fussy daughter just received a winter jacket that she’ll wear without giving us fits!

She’s not even 8 yet but she acts like a teenager when it comes to certain things like jackets. I don’t know why but she complains when jackets look like they belong on little kids and my husband will inform her that she in in fact still a little kid! She gets mad and huffs away and we’re left scratching our heads trying to figure her out.

We received the Girls’ Downlight Sweater  from Eddie Bauer and it passes her test and ours with flying colors!

 Product Details
  • Nylon, goose down
  • 600 fill Premium European Goose Down
  • Durable water-repellant finish
  • Zippered handwarmer pockets
  • Elastic binding at cuffs and hem
This version of our best-selling Downlight sweater is perfectly sized for young adventurers. 600 fill Premium European Goose Down provides the lightest, warmest insulation. Period. Zippered handwarmer pockets and elastic binding at the cuffs and hem. Imported.

This is a great jack and it fits her perfectly, she’s middle of the pack with height and weight so we opted to get her a small (7-8) and it fits perfectly, not too big not too small and she’ll be able to wear it for at least two seasons. What I like is that is sits below her waist covering her back and with the cut of the jacket it hugs her body just enough that she won’t have gaps letting cold air shoot up her back making her cold and miserable.
Here is a close up of the reflectors that are on the sleeves, very cool.
There are 5 colors to choose from and we went with the purple because (a) my daughter loves purple and (b) the lining of the coat is electric green and she just thought that was about the coolest thing ever. It’s this feature in her mind, mind you, that makes this jacket a “big girl” jacket and not a little girl jacket. Quality and craftsmanship are what Eddie Bauer is known for and it shows in this jacket it looks like a million bucks, it feels like a million bucks and the best part it won’t cost you a million bucks. Even though we’re prepared I’m still hoping winter forgets to show up this year…

So if you are looking for a great jacket for your little girl (or guy) why not check out the great outerwear available at Eddie Bauer,  you can't go wrong if you do not like the item you have it, they  will exchange it or you can get your money back, they have a guarantee on very item, they guarantee you will love it.

Retails for $79.95 this may be a higher price for some, but the quality of this jacket speaks for itself. I am very impressed with this jacket and would highly recommend it. The jacket is very light and very warm all you could ever ask in a great fall jacket.
