Holiday Gift Guide American Girl Doll - Caroline Abbott and accessories a great gift

There are dolls and then there are dolls that are more heirloom dolls, a doll that you’d want to not only play with but make sure you keep and hand it down to generations that follow. American Girl dolls  aren’t just your typical dolls, they’re so much more each doll has a story and a background and I’m totally jealous of my daughter because I would have killed to have a doll this cool when I was her age!

Caroline Abbott-As the War of 1812 begins, so does the story of Caroline Abbott’s bravery. She loves sailing with her father, but when he’s captured, Caroline must help keep the family’s shipyard running. When she sees a chance to rescue her father, Caroline discovers that she must use her mind and heart to guide her decisions.

I honestly don’t know where to start, like I said these dolls are so deep in back story that they literally come with a book telling you their story! One of the things the American Girl dolls are known for are the accessories and my daughter’s doll Caroline has some pretty cool period correct accessories like a winter coat and ice skating set

These accessories aren’t just cheesy little afterthoughts, they are detailed to such a realistic level that you have a hard time believing they go with a doll. The doll and accessories are so well made and so detailed and just something that every little girl should be able to have a chance to experience and to enjoy.
Caroline and my daughter have and will continue to have many adventures together, with Caroline’s back story she’s from 1812 (she looks pretty good for being 200 years old!) so we’ve been teaching our daughter about life in the early 1800s and how so many things have changed. My daughter is having a hard time trying to imagine life without an iPad and laptop to keep her busy!

But one of my favorite aspects of the American Girl dolls is the book that comes along with the doll, you get a doll with a story and your child gets not only a toy but a book and reading to me is very important and seeing my daughter in bed with Caroline next to her and she’s reading the book to Caroline is so precious and sweet and makes me feel like the luckiest mom in the world.
Look at her beautiful bright eyes, and face.

Look at the details of the hem and the dress, and her lacy pantalettes and ribbed knit stockings even the little shoes are amazingly well made.

Caroline is a well-crafted doll, her blonde hair is long and pretty and has curls in it (I will be making sure her hair is well taken care of!) and her light green aquamarine eyes are simply stunning. She’s dressed in period correct clothing from her pretty pink dress with an empire waist and woven floral sash to her lacy pantalettes and ribbed knit stockings with her little pink shoes, she’s simply adorable. I’ve always been told you get what you pay for and when you pay for an American Girl doll your child gets so much more than just a toy they get memories and happiness that you can’t put a price tag on.

So if you are looking for that wow holiday present, a present that will be treasured and loved. I would highly recommended the American Girl Doll - Caroline Abbott. That special someone on your holiday gift list would just love her!

I remember when these first came out-my favorite was always Molly. I loved the red. white, and blue All-American motif.

These dolls are so pretty -- wish my daughter liked dolls. She's too much of a tomboy!

Beautiful attention to detail: love the mittens. Too bad I don't have a little girl in my life.
