Holiday Gift Guide My Ribbon Barrette Maker (and a Giveaway)

Are you looking for a great gift idea? How about a fun crafty toy that gets girls moving and gets their creative juices flowing? Well I have a great suggestion for you, a My Ribbon Barrette Maker! Here is a little more information about the company that make this fun toy, from the website:

While babysitting his granddaughters they asked David to make friendship bracelets with them. This is a trend that has a recent surge in popularity as moms teach their kids this age old tradition with a bit of nostalgia. Friendship Bracelets are seen all over TV, and Tweens everywhere are making them. The process of making them involves securing a knot and keeping the strings in order while knotting the threads. After one experience with the grandkids David decided their must be a better way!

Crorey Creations was able to tap into some of the best talent in Detroit who have unfortunately found themselves unemployed in this tough economy. After many engineered drawings, prototypes and focus groups we now have a perfected, patented product. This product is the right product , at the right time at the right price (under $25). This product will have appeal beyond the US market and can be global in scope as evident through online research of friendship bracelets.

I was very fortunate to be able to try My Ribbon Barrette Maker with my daughter:

 My Review:

My daughter is becoming quite the little artist and designer. She stared a new school and since then she has really been into drawing and designing. She is only 8 but she loves it, and is pretty good too. So when she had the chance to review the My Ribbon Barrette Maker she was so excited! She could not wait to make her own hair barrette creations.

I am a child of the 80’s so this really brought me back. I remember barrettes like this when I was little. I love when styles come back, this was a cute barrette back then and it is still a cute barrette now.

The kit contains all you need to create lots and lots of great barrettes. The kit has a drawer that is full of barrettes, ribbons, beads and instructions all in one place. So no reason to have these all over the house, my daughter knows to put whatever she does not use back into the drawer to clean up.  I This would be great for sleepovers or slumber parties! I love that there is no plugin in required. Just old fashioned fun. My daughter can tend to spend too much time watching tv and playing video games and I know that is no good for her. I love that she can step away from all of her electronics and use her imagination and have fun designing and creating pretty barrettes.

My daughter came up with the idea of making a bunch of barrettes and giving them out as favors to her friends at her birthday party next month. I thought that was a great idea, and I do not mind helping her get as many as she needs this is a lot of fun! This would be great to bring with us on our next trip to Disney World, this is travel friendly and would help us pass the time in the plane and in the airports.

This would make a great gift idea for the tween or young teen on your holiday gift list this year. It will be wonderful for that special someone, they will love it! My daughter sure did.

The Ribbon Barrette Maker retails for $24.99  and recommended for ages 6 and up.

So if you are looking for a great gift idea, a gift that does not need batteries and does not need to be plugged in.. A great old fashioned but still very fun gift, I would recommend a Ribbon Barrette Maker. It would be a great gift for that special girl on your holiday gift list this year.

Cute...this seems to be easy enough for kids to do with minimal help.

I collect toys for the kids at Ronald McDonald House and this would be really fun for them.
