Virtual Piggy Review

Are you looking for a way to keep track of your child’s online purchases? A way to purchase safely? Kind of like a paypal for kids? Well I would like to introduce you to a new company  that has a great unique concept. Virtual Piggy, here is a little more information about the company from the website:

Virtual Piggy is a payment option that allows young customers to safely make purchases online while keeping parents completely in control. Best of all, it's free to use! Virtual Piggy empowers young customers to safely make purchases online and learn valuable financial lessons managing a budget, while keeping parents completely in control.

My daughter is eight years old and growing up quickly. She is a whiz on the computer, and is on the computer a lot, be it to do her homework or to play games.  She is right at the age in my opinion to learn how to manage her money and to be able to spend it with something like Virtual Piggy. My daughter does chores for an allowance and she is always asking to buy this or to buy that…. I like that she can lean to make safe internet purchases.

As a parent I like knowing I can limit the places that my daughter can shop.  And knowing with Virtual Piggy I can set a limit, or allowance, for my child and once they reach their maximum spending amount their Virtual Piggy will stop them from being able to purchase anything else.  So no worries, your child will not max out your credit card, you set the limit and when that limit is reached, their shopping is over.  I plan to set up allowance payments for my daughter, each week after she does her chores and all is good for the week. She will be able to spend a set amount on her Virtual Piggy account, and she just loves to shop.

Virtual Piggy has partnered with several great companies you may have heard of, like K’NEX, Kidlandia, Foot Locker Sephora (as soon as my daughter is allowed to wear makeup, she will be shopping here!). My daughter is looking forward to spending her saved funds on holiday gifts for my husband and I. That is so sweet of her! I cannot wait to see what she gets for us.

The best thing is that Virtual Piggy is a FREE service! All you have to do is set up an account for your child. In order to sign up for a Virtual Piggy account you have to add a credit card, or your paypal account as a payment option. But don’t worry Virtual Piggy has the highest security available PCI-DSS Level 1. You will not be charged when you set up the account. You will only be charged when your child makes a purchase.

Virtual Piggy is a free site that allows your child to safely make purchases online from retailers. The site is easy to use and the steps are simple to follow. I would suggest Virtual Piggy to anyone who would like give your child an allowance, and a place where they can spend online safely.
