Manhattan Toy Company, good old fashioned fun! (And a Giveaway)

Are you looking for a way for your kids to get back to old fashioned fun? Are you tired of the constant tv watching and video game playing? Are you searching for some fun that requires a little more thought, but it is still lots of fun to do? Well The Manhattan Toy company is here to rescue your kids from constantly having to be plugged in to have fun. Here is a little more information about The Manhattan Toy company from the website:

Play is discovery and exploration, and joy, and growth, and learning, and so much more. And for us play is serious work. So when we bring play to life, we do it with a commitment to the finest in craftsmanship and creativity. All of our products, from the newest concepts to our time-tested classics, are innovatively designed to inspire imaginative play and delight our consumers large and small.
Originality

Founded in 1979 by Francis Goldwyn (grandson of motion picture studio owner Sam Goldwyn), Manhattan Toy pioneered the use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and introduced delightful new body styles in soft toys. Although Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, we remain true to his vision of marching to the beat of a different (toy) drum.
Developmental Value

Play is not only fun, it’s essential to a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. Our design process blends science and whimsy to produce toys that offer children a rich array of visual and tactile stimulation and unlimited opportunities for imaginative exploration.

Quality & Safety

Our unsurpassed quality standards ensure that our toys are both durable and safe. Prior to manufacture, each Manhattan Toy design is thoroughly tested to comply with the most rigorous international standards for children’s products. Our quality assurance team continually reviews designs and procedures to ensure that products exceed both existing and new safety regulations.

My daughter was very fortunate to be able to check out two items from Manhattan Toys,  The Imagine I Can , I can Sew and a Create ages 8+ and Make It Myself, Create and Color princess ages 3+

I remember when I was a child, I would love the most basic things. When my mother got a package in the mail I would transform that box into a bed for my baby dolls, then later into a house for my fashion dolls. What fun I used to have with just a box. From coloring to tracing shapes to cutting out windows, my imagination ran wild! It seems like things are a bit different these days, most kids tend to be for technical, getting attached to their ipads, and video gaming systems. I let my daughter play with the computer and her video games at times but I do not want them to be all she plays with. I love for her to play with games and toys real games and real toys not just virtual games and toys.

So when we had the chance to check out a great company that has a wonderful selection of toys that get kids brains thinking and imagining… I jumped at the chance. First up is I can sew kitI thought my daughter would think sewing would be neat and she would have fun with it. I never in my life would imagine the reaction that she had when she saw the sewing kit… She was ecstatic, saying I can’t wait to sew!

This was the kind of reaction she has when she gets something big something she loves. Sewing, had this kind of reaction? I always knew she loved to draw, but I never knew she would love sewing this much. I was so happy to see her having fun making a little flower pillow from the kit.

The Sew Sweet kit includes  ARV $20.00

Paper Sewing Template
6 Sheets of 5" x 7.5" Felt
10 pre-cut Felt Shapes in Organza Bag
3 Embroidery Floss Colors
4 Sewing Needles
Scissors
Measuring Tape
Felt Storage Case for Sewing Tools
44 Assorted Beads
Polyfill

This is a great kit filled with all you need to make 4 different pillow friends, a flower, a dog, a butterfly and  an owl. My daughter was very careful with the needles, and she let her imagination soar. She had a great time mixing and matching colors for her pillow. After the pillow was finished she could not wait to use the pillow as an seat for her fashion dolls (think trendy beanbag for dolls). My daughter did such a great job with her first project, and she cannot wait to make another little critter, the doggie is up next.

Make It Myself, Create and Color princess, this was a great project for younger children. What little girl would not like making their own little princess? Well with this kit you can color crate and put together your own little princess complete with googley eyes.  This was a simple kit, that let my daughter be creative and it was just old fashioned creative fun.

The Imagine I Can Series has many great kits to choose from: Make It Myself, Create and Color princess, Create a Puppet Lion, Lace and Play Ram, Creative Color Sticker Clings, Pet Rock Pals, and Sew Sweet, and 12 others. For role playing there are four choices , Feel Better MD and the Secret Agent Spy Gear. They also have a great choice in games,  they have Caterpillar Connect, Castle Climb, Cheese Chase and 3 more.  These toys look like so much fun, and I am sure they will bring out the artistic, imaginative side of your kids.  With Easter right around the corner, these toys would make great Easter basket stuffers for that special someone.  The Manhattan Toy company has a great variety of toys for younger and older children, you will surely find just the right game, toy or kit for your child.
