Cook two teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of water on high for five minutes.

If your microwave starts to micro-whiff, cook the above mixture regularly to remove odors. Wipe up any food remnants with soapy water and allow to dry. Keeping your microwave clean will extend the life of the appliance.
