Chuao Chocolatier's NEW Pop Corn Pop Bar

Are you a chocolate lover, well I sure am I love chocolate! But I am always looking for new and amazing chocolate flavors. If you are a chocolate fan, a fan like me who loves new and exciting flavors you will love this… I would like to introduce you all to Chuao Chocolatier, a maker of extraordinary chocolate. Here is a little more information about Chuao Chocolatier from the website:

Chuao Chocolatier, located in San Diego, Calif., creates culinary-inspired confections by blending all-natural ingredients with its own premium blend of ethically sourced chocolate, featuring cacao from its founders’ native Venezuela. Master Chef Michael Antonorsi and his brother Richard started Chuao Chocolatier in 2002 with the intention of arousing the senses with unusual, unexpected and delicious chocolate experiences.

And 10 years later, the company continues to delight with award-winning products, including the best-selling Firecracker bar and truffle, Potato Chip bar and Spicy Maya hot chocolate. Chuao Chocolatier offers chocolate bars, ChocoPods (mini chocolate bars), hot chocolate, bonbons and other gourmet chocolate confections at Chuao Chocolatier Cafés and fine retailers nationwide including Whole Foods Market, Crate & Barrel, and Dean and Deluca. For additional information or to shop the company’s online store, visit www.chuaochocolatier.com.

I was very fortunate to be able to have a taste of Chuao Chocolatier, getting to try to new pop corn pop bar:

Chuao Chocolatier’s Pop Corn Pop bar isa nod to America’s favorite movie theater treat and cleverly creates a sensation of popcorn popping.  Chef Michael Antonorsi blends creamy milk chocolate with puffed whole grains, toasted corn chips, popping candy and a sprinkle of sea salt in creamy milk chocolate. Take a bite, close your eyes and experience “popcorn” popping in your mouth!
Also available in a 60-calorie ChocoPod mini bar—surround sound not included. Chef Michael Antonorsi discovered the fun of Pop Corn Pop during its creation. While playing with ways to use popcorn in a bar, he wondered what it might be like to actually simulate popcorn popping. And the coolest thing about Pop Corn Pop? Popcorn isn’t even an ingredient! Amaranth is the “secret” ingredient and combined with the popping candy create the taste and sensation of freshly popped popcorn.
My Review:
I am a chocolate lover, I have been since I was a little kid, chocolate was my favorite sweet. As I grew up I still love chocolate, but now I look for flavored chocolate, and the more unique the better the chocolate tastes. I no longer eat cheaper chocolate, for me it must be well made delicious chocolate.  I was able to try a new chocolate flavor from  Chuao, the new pop corn pop bar. When the package arrived, my parents were over to visit and as soon as my mother heard that there was chocolate in the package she was very interested, and I sure had her attention. I seem to get my love of chocolate from my mom, so with all of this chocolate we were both in heaven!

Inspired by that familiar flavor you love, with a surprising POP in milk chocolate. A nod to our favorite movie theater treat, we’ve mixed puffed whole grains, toasted corn chips, popping candy and a sprinkle of sea salt in creamy milk chocolate. Take a bite, close your eyes, and experience “popcorn” popping in your mouth! Surround sound not included.
The pop corn pop bar, this bar just sounds amazing right?  Why hasn’t anyone thought of this sooner? Salt and chocolate go so well together, and what is more salty than a good piece of toasted corn chips? So it would work well with chocolate? Well it works so much more than you could imagine.  The smooth taste of the chocolate, mixed with the saltiness of the toasted corn chips, with the touch of puffed whole grains.  So where is the popcorn you ask? Well that is not the pop, in this pop bar….. the pop care popping candy that just gives you a bit of a surprise when biting into the bar, It is an experience.

My mom  said the bar remind her of a nestle crunch bar, with better tasting chocolate with popping candy surprise, and the  mixed puffed whole grains, toasted corn chips making the crunch instead of the crispies.  I was also able to share some with my co-workers, who I must admit at first were a little grossed out by the idea of the mixing of the pop candy, chocolate and mixed puffed whole grains, toasted corn chips. I said you must try it, you will love it just try! (I should like my mother, try it you may like it) of course I was right and they all ate it up and wanted more! Each bar retails for $6.00. Chuao Chocolatier is an award-winning company that has so many amazing chocolate flavors.  How about  potato chips in chocolate and panko bread crumbs with sea salt in chocolate? Wow, I will have to pick up some more of these amazing sounding flavors soon!

If you are looking for a smaller less calorie treat Chuao has a great small bar called ChocoPod, the chocolate pods are 60-calorie chocolate snack, it is full of amazing flavor.   The small bar, is a two bite bar that will take you away to a sweet place that you will love. If you are trying to save your waistline, they are only 60 calories each. Sweet chocolate for such low calories?  I should pick up a few more for later…. ChocoPod’s are sold for $1.00.
