Great Fall Recipes from Finlandia Cheese, delicious cheese for the whole family.

Are you a cheese lover? Well I have a great cheese suggestion for you, you just have to try some Finlandia Cheese, it is so very delicious! Here is a little more information about Finlandia Cheese from the website:

About Finlandia Cheese, Inc. Finlandia Cheese, Inc. is a division of Valio USA, a subsidiary of Valio, Ltd., Finland’s largest food company and one of the most dominant forces in the global dairy industry. Headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, Finlandia Cheese is the number one imported cheese brand in America. All Finlandia imported cheese is made in Finland from the purest milk in Europe with no added hormones.

The milk comes from small dairy farms where the average farm has 20 cows and all are treated humanely with regular health screenings. There is also a fully integrated hygienic program in place regarding the milk processing and cheese production. The company’s cheeses are distributed to fine supermarkets, delis and club stores nationwide. For more information on Finlandia and its products, visit www.finlandiacheese.com

As the Temperature Drops, Turn to
the Ultimate Comfort Food (Cheese)

TOP CHEF ariane duarte SHARES HEr comforting CHEESEY SECRETS

As the leaves begin to change and the temperatures fall, it’s time to find solace in comfort foods that soothe the soul. Somehow nostalgic thoughts of grandma’s macaroni and cheese or a crock full of savory onion soup enrobed in crusty, gooey, melted cheese make the upcoming harsh winter months just that much easier to bear.

“One of my real secrets is knowing that all cheese is not created equal,” advises Ariane Duarte, of Bravo’s Top Chef and owner/executive chef of the award-winning CulinAriane restaurant. “Whether I’m choosing ingredients for the restaurant or for my family, quality is my first concern. So when I’m choosing cheese, I prefer Finlandia®. Regardless of the cheese type, all Finlandia cheeses are all natural, hormone-free and naturally lactose-free, and I especially like the superior taste and end results when used in my recipes.”

Finlandia Cheese, with over 150 years of master cheese making experience, has a variety of flavors that offer endless culinary possibilities. You’ll find the robust flavors and superior melting quality of Finlandia varieties, including Swiss, Lacey Swiss, and Light Swiss, a gratifying solution to another night at home.

So take a tip from Ariane and consider inviting your neighbors to an old-fashioned fondue party or create an intimate “night-in” with that special someone while serving savories like Mushroom Swiss Tartlets, Prosciutto & Grilled Cheese with Olive Tapenade or Swiss Chipotle Mac & Cheese. There are so many great recipes on the site, here is one of my favorites! It looks great doesn't it?
French Onion Soup with Finlandia Swiss Cheese

¼ c butter
3 onions, thinly sliced
1 t white sugar
1 T all purpose flour
2 ½ c water
½ red wine
2 (10.5 oz) cans condensed beef broth
1 French baguette, sliced thick
8 oz sliced Finlandia Swiss Cheese

Melt butter or margarine in a 4 quart saucepan. Stir in sugar. Cook onions over medium heat for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Stir in flour until well blended with the onions and pan juices and cook about 5 minutes. Add water, wine, and beef broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Cut four thick slices of bread from the loaf. Toast the bread slices until browned and crusty. Reserve the remaining bread to serve with the soup. Ladle soup into four oven safe bowls. Place one slice of toasted bread on top of the soup in each bowl. Cover top of bowl with Finlandia Cheese slice until it just falls over the edge. Place soup bowls on a cookie sheet to avoid spills in the oven. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes or just until cheese is melted and golden brown.

We used the cheese in a very exotic and amazing dish. Grilled cheese, ok it is not very exotic at all, but it sure was amazing. Sometimes simpler is better and grilled cheese is one of those things for me. Bread butter and cheese, that is all you need. And it is great!  I have had fancy meals all around the country but grilled cheese, there is just something about it that I love more than any fancy meal. Grilled Cheese just reminds me of my childhood. And Finlandia cheeses are great for grilled cheese. We used The Lacey Swiss for the grilled cheese, and it was fantastic.
My daughter takes after me with her love of cheese.  It is great to just pick on, or add to a meal. I will have to make the Cuban sandwich for our next family get together, I am sure it will be loved by all.

I would recommend Finlandia Cheese for any cheese lovers, it is a great cheese with wonderful flavor, that my family will continue to eat for years to come.
