An amazing movie from Disney - Planes will be available on DVD November 19th

After spreading its wings in theaters, “PLANES” soars to glorious new heights on Blu-ray, featuring wondrous high definition picture and sound and never-before-seen bonus features, including musical number “Franz’s Song,” deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette that follows Director Klay Hall’s personal journey during the making of the film, a look at the ten greatest aviators in history hosted by ESPN’s Colin Cowherd, and more.
Directed by Klay Hall (“King of the Hill,” “The Simpsons”), produced by Traci Balthazor-Flynn (“Return to Never Land,” “Bambi II,” “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning”) and written by Jeffrey M. Howard (“Tinker Bell,” “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue”), “PLANES” flew to the top of the U.S. box office this summer, holding altitude as the #1 family movie in America four weekends in a row.
“PLANES” is propelled by a star-studded voice cast that includes Dane Cook (“Louie,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “Dan in Real Life”) as Dusty, Stacy Keach (“The Bourne Legacy,” “Nebraska”) as Navy Corsair Skipper, Teri Hatcher (ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” “Coraline”) as say-it-like-it-is mechanic Dottie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Seinfeld”) as Rochelle, Priyanka Chopra (“Barfi!”) as Ishani, John Cleese (Monty Python, “A Fish Called Wanda”) as Bulldog, Carlos Alazraqui (James Garcia on Comedy Central’s “Reno 911”) as El Chupacabra, Roger Craig Smith (Captain America in Disney XD’s “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” voice of Sonic The Hedgehog in “Wreck-It Ralph”) as the world champion racer Ripslinger, Val Kilmer (“Batman Forever,” “Top Gun”) as Bravo and Anthony Edwards (TV’s “ER,” “Top Gun”) as Echo.
On November 19th, “PLANES” will be available as a Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray+ DVD + Digital Copy), a Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy), a DVD (DVD + Digital Copy), Digital HD and On-Demand.

Our Take:

Being big Disney fans needless to say we are huge fans of the Cars movie franchise. Well who doesn’t love Mater? He is a fun loving character that you can’t help but love, he is my favorite Cars character, of course being a Ford fan my husband favorite is Brent Mustangburger everyone has a favorite car right? Well how about a Plane? Because we loved the Cars movies so much we of course were excited for the Planes movie!  Cars was such a massive success, and I am sure Planes will be too.

The backdrop is a race circuit  around the world, who is the all-time leader? Would an underdog, the little plane that could Rusty make his dreams come true? Well maybe he can with a great surrounding cast of characters, some friends and some foes? In great Disney fashion there is a wise old character for wisdom and advise, along with a fun love interest.  The movie has wonderful coloring, and great scenes that you would expect from Disney, there were funny parts and some heartwarming scenes as well.
Some of the jokes were a little over my daughters head but my husband and I had some good chuckles.  Overall the movie was great, the characters and the voices were meant for each other. The flying scenes were amazing, and it seems like we all really flying, it was well done. My daughter loved the character Chupacabra, it was so cute when she tried to say the name, she had issues so she called him Chups. Funny. Planes has a great feel good message, and some great characters that are timeless and will surely be popular for a long long time.

We loved Cars so much that we just had to visit, CarsLand in Disney’s California Adventure park in CA. Will there be a Planesland one day? That would be really cool, perhaps there could be a “Dusty” rollercoaster that would be an idea… maybe one day you just never know?

A meet a greet with the planes would be a neat idea, my daughter would love a picture with Dusty.  So if you are looking for a great stocking stuffer idea, the kids (the little and the big like my husband and I) will just love the Disney movie Planes. This would make an awesome small gift, for a friend or a great stocking stuffer for a special person on your holiday gift list this year. I would definitely recommend this to any Disney/Pixar collector.

Make sure to check out this extended clip, after seeing this you will surely want to pick up this cool movie.

Is there anyone on your holiday gift list that would love Disney Planes?
