Are you looking for unique bags, and accessories? How about items that give back to communities that are in need? Well I would like to introduce you all to a great company that sells amazing pop top bags and jewelry that are handmade in Brazil, Escama Studio here is a little more information about this great company from the website:
Escama Studio is a social enterprise based in California and Brazil. Our mission is to create innovative on-trend fashion accessories while promoting sustainable development through trade. The word 'Escama' means 'fish scales' in Portuguese; the name was chosen because our flagship product -- crocheted accessories with post-consumer pull tabs -- appear as if they're made from big metallic scales of a fish.To achieve our unique aesthetic, the Escama Studio team adapted traditional Brazilian crochet work and imbued the handmade crafts with a modern design sense and new materials. With designs originating from both San Francisco and Brazil, the pop top bags are handmade in Brazil by artisan groups who are not just contract manufacturers, but an integral part of Escama Studio.
Escama Studio is a green company, a fair trade company and an ongoing experiment in sustainability. We measure our success by the strength of our partnerships with producers in underprivileged communities and by the sense of wonder that our products bring to our fans worldwide. We are all sincerely grateful for every customer who loves these handbags and supports this venture.
There are so many wonderful items in the shop, here are a few of my favorites:

Who made your bag? - The artist’s work in co-operatives located outside of Brasília, Brazil. The groups offer women and men in the community a means to earn a living wage through handicrafts and provide a setting where friends are made and self-esteem is regained.
I have always been a purse lover, especially wristlets, they are so easy to tote and hold just what I need. I have also been trying to be more green, and be kinder to mother earth these days as well… So when I had the chance to review a bag from Escama Studio, I was so excited. This would be a bag that made use of discarded items, and made them beautiful and stylish.
Pop tops, they seem to be everywhere, but who would think of using them to make bags? Well the ingenious folks at Escama Studio did, and it is an amazing idea! While helping the community with jobs, and giving them self-esteem all while making a great product. The bag is well made and unique. The inside is the perfect size for some lipstick (or lip balm in my case, don’t leave home without it) and some cash and other essentials.
This bag would make a cute bag for a night out, or just a trip to the mall. But I am most excited about the bag because, this purse will be the perfect bag to travel with. This is an eye catcher, a bag that will surely be noticed. When I wore this around, I got quite a few questions asked.. everyone loved it. This purse seems pretty sturdy, and it is something that will last. I would recommend this clutch for purse lovers and travelers they will surely love it. This would also make a great gift. If you are looking for a great gift idea, for someone special or for yourself Escama Studio has some wonderful items that are unique and will make you feel great about buying. You will love the feeling of giving back and helping others with every purchase, it is a great thing.
