Ready for some family fun? Check out the great PA Ski options!

As we watch the season turn from the fall to the winter that means the weather is going to get colder and with that snow isn't too far behind. We're lucky that we live only a few hours away from the Pocono mountains and all the fun that comes with snow like skiing, sledding, snowboarding and just getting away from the city and into the fresh mountain air. I had some of the best times of my life as a kid going skiing with my family and that's something I want to introduce to my daughter. And Ski PA is making it a little easier for us.

If you have a child in the 4th or 5th grade your child can ski or ride for free at all participating ski areas in the state of Pennsylvania thanks to the 4th and 5th grade snow pass. Just simply fill out the application and provide the $30.00 processing fee and your child or children are covered as long as they're with a paying adult. And one of the best parts is that you don't actually have to be a resident of Pennsylvania!

How to Apply For & Receive Your Snowpass:

Include or upload  a copy of the child’s 4th or 5th Grade report card, school ID or any other document verifying school grade (last year’s final report card can also be submitted as grade verification too.)
Include a 2" x 1½" color photo of child (upload or with printed applications, please PRINT child’s name on back side of photo.)
Include a $30 non-refundable processing fee per child (non-refundable). We accept Mastercard and Visa online or checks mailed with an application.
Make checks payable to: Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association or PSAA.
Regular processing time = 10 to 15 business days from the time the PSAA office receives your Snowpass application regardless of form of submission .
EXPEDITED processing time = 5 to 7 business days from the time the PSAA office receives your Snowpass application regardless of form of submission .
Ready to buy now, just visit Ski PA to purchase.
This deal is open to everyone. My family often would visit the mountains, so I was always sledding and skiing and just having a great time in the snow. My husband on the other hand spent his snow days in the middle of the street playing with his friends, he never had the chance to ski or sled. When he told me he never went sledding I was shocked and he would simply say you've been around South Philly do you see any hills?

So if you have a novice in your life like I do or if you're a novice yourself, Ski PA has the perfect package for you too, it's their First Time Ski/Snowboard Plan, For $49.00 you'll get a lift ticket, one beginner lesson and rental equipment. You're allowed to buy 5 vouchers per household so if you're all novices you can all learn and have a fun time together. It's important to have family time to make memories that will last a life time, memories you can look back on and smile and remember the fun you all had together and Ski PA makes it a little easier for all of us to make such memories. Just remember to bundle up!

Be sure to connect with Ski PA on Facebook for more information.

I had no idea Pennsylvania had so much skiing. It makes sense, I guess. They get just as much snow as the rest of us on the east coast.
