Looking for new affordable car insurance check out @Metromile a new car insurance just launched in PA #Giveaway

I’m lucky, my commute to work is straightforward and simple, I leave my house jump on the subway and a few minutes later arrive at my office. My husband on the other hand is in an odd spot and would have to take multiple buses to get to his office so he drives to work. His commute is only 1.5 miles from home so 3 miles round trip a day. His drive to and from work takes him about 7 minutes, on a bus it has taken over an hour and it’s something he’s not really willing to do.
With driving comes the cost of it, like gas and insurance. You need both and while gas prices are coming down my husband’s insurance cost seem to never budge. Living in a big city has its benefits, but it also has its detractions like paying higher than average car insurance. With such a short commute to work and the fact that we average about 6,000 miles a year driving why should we pay the same as someone who drives 3 times the miles we do? I like the concept of pay what you use and with Metromile you get just that and they’re finally available in Pennsylvania!

Metromile is revolutionizing car ownership to fit your lifestyle. If you aren’t driving much, you shouldn’t be paying much. With pay-per-mile insurance and our smart driving app, we aim to make car ownership less expensive, more convenient, and as simple as it can be.
All you need to do is simply plug the small wireless device into your cars diagnostic port and start saving! The device will securely count your miles and that’s what you pay for the miles you use. With the assistance of an app (available via the App Store and Google Play) you’ll be able to monitor your vehicle health, locate your car and check your driving stats! And this is just the beginning! More features will be available soon.
Getting back to the pay per mile cost and what that means, you pay a base cost each month (rates vary by driver) but let’s say it’s about 40 dollars, then you pay for the miles driven let’s use .09 cents a mile we average about 500 miles a month driving so our cost would be 45 dollars, add that to the base price and your monthly payment for insurance is 85 dollars! That’s a lot cheaper than we pay right now and if you can save money and get all the coverage you’re used to and expect from an insurance provider then why wouldn’t you do it?
The generous folks at Metromile are giving one of Susan’s Disney Family readers a chance to win a Metromile Swag bag filled with some great stuff including a $50 gas card, T-shirt, Notebook & Pen, Mousepad, Sunglasses, Phone Charger, Tire Gauge,  Air Freshener & Tumbler (for hot and cold beverages).

This would be perfect for me. I have a 2004 car with only 36,000 miles. Having a car insurance that bases it's price on mileage would be a money saver for me.

I learned that "65% of drivers pay higher premiums to subsidize the minority who drive the most." I would love to use this service because I'm a low-mileage driver.

I learned that you can save on road trips. With per-mile insurance, you aren’t charged for the miles you drive above 150/day (250/day in Washington).
