I am headed to LA for the red carpet premiere of Queen of Katwe! #QueenofKatweevent And for some ABC TV fun #ABCTVEvent ! Follow along from 9/19 – 9/21!

****Disney is providing an all-expense paid trip for me to cover this great event ****

I am super excited to announce that I am headed back to LA! I will go on an heartwarming journey with the Queen of Katwe from September 19th to September 21st to cover the release of Walt Disney Studios’ the Queen of Katwe, in theaters in limited release on September 23rd and everywhere on September 30th! While there we will be going to the RED CARPET premiere, of this film based on a true story.
Getting pixie dust sprinkled on me like this just made me jump up and down for joy... eeepp!!. I have heard such great things about this movie, friends who have seen early preview raved about Queen of Katwe.  I am extremely fortunate to be able to walk this red carpet, will I get a glimpse of the stars? Will I be passing by David Oyelowo, or Oscar® winner  Lupita Nyong’o? We will have to see? Red Carpets are always an amazing whirlwind, you just never know how it will be until you are there.

Along with the red carpet premiere we will also be interviewing some of the cast, filmmakers and the real life people who inspired the film. Getting the story from the real life people that inspired the movie is going to be educational and amazing.  The first two Queen of Katwe interviews have been confirmed: Lupita Nyong'o and David Oyelowo! Wow, what a starting line up!
Oh but wait there is more! We will also be interviewing newcomer Madina Nalwanga who plays Phiona Mutesi in the film.

We will be chatting with Martin Kabanza, and the Director of Queen of Katwe, Mira Nair, and there is even more! We will have the special honor of interviewing the real life Phiona Mutesi and the real life Robert Katende! This is such an amazing and rare opportunity!

Queen of Katwe movie is based on a true story of a chess champion, chess holds a special place in my heart because this was the first game my dad taught me, and I beat him on my very first game! (No he did not let me win, he did not work like that, you had to win fair and square and I did). I am looking forward to seeing the film, it seems like a real tear jerker and a sweet story.“Queen of Katwe” is based on the vibrant true story of a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion. Directed by Mira Nair from a screenplay by William Wheeler, “Queen of Katwe” is produced by Lydia Dean Pilcher, p.g.a. and John Carls, p.g.a. with Will Weiske and Troy Buder serving as executive producers. The film stars Golden Globe® nominee David Oyelowo, Oscar® winner and Tony Award® nominee Lupita Nyong’o and newcomer Madina Nalwanga.

While in LA we will have a chance to visit the sets and talk with some of the people who make the following ABC TV comedies shows happen. We will take a peek with a back stage with a behind-the-scenes experience on the set of The Middle and the brand new show American Housewife. – “The Middle” starring Emmy Award winner Patricia Heaton), returning for Season 8, and new show “American Housewife” starring the hilarious Katy Mixon, of “Mike & Molly” each shows feel like “real” family’s, each in their own unique ways.  Getting to visit two TV show sets, it going to be awesome. I can’t wait to check out the set, from checking out the props to exploring the kitchen and rooms of the “house” it is going to be so cool.
Are you a fan of The Middle? This great family show is going into its 8th season, and is still going strong, and I know why, because it is just like an average family and a lot of people can relate and enjoy watching the Heck family. I hope we have the chance to interview Patricia Heaton, I have been a fan of hers for years.
"Two-time Emmy-winner Patricia Heaton stars in this warm and witty single-camera comedy about raising a family and lowering your expectations. Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck is a harried wife and mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor to get her family through each day intact. Frankie works as a dental assistant, and her unflappable husband, Mike, is manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average – yes, most definitely average – family".

The Middle Season 8 premieres Tuesday, October 11 at 8/7c

Have you heard of the new ABC show American Housewife? I look forward to finding out more about this show starring Katy Mixon, I thought she was great in “Mike & Molly” and I like to see how this show will be.
“Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” offspring. Katie’s perfectly imperfect world is upended when her neighbor’s decision to move notches her up fromher ideal social standing and sets her on a path to ensure that doesn’t happen, regardless of the consequences”.

American Housewife  premieres Tuesday, October 11 at 8:30/7:30c.

We will also be headed off to the set of the ABC show The Real O'Neals! This funny comedy is a riot! I can't wait to check out the set, and hang out with the stars of this fun show.
The O’Neal family continues its journey of self-discovery and growth, resulting from Kenny coming out and his parents, Eileen and Pat, getting divorced. After finally coming out, Kenny will discover that life outside the closet isn’t that easy. Luckily fo...r him, his older brother, Jimmy, will always be there to offer his often-misguided advice. And finally, there’s Shannon, the youngest O’Neal, whose unique views on life make her wise beyond her years. Eileen and Pat will continue to deal with starting their separate lives while still living under the same roof. Through it all, Aunt Jodi will be there offering her unusual brand of support, as the O’Neals continue to explore new relationships, friendships and acceptance of one another in the next, messier chapter of their lives.

The Real O'Neals season premiere is October 11 9:30/8:30C

And last but certainty not least... Has anyone here heard of a little show called Once Upon a Time? Hmm? Okay, okay, this is not a little show at all, it is a smash hit that has fans everywhere!!! I know my mom and my niece squealed when they heard this show was included in this trip and so did I! This is such a magical show that has an amazing cast and wonderful writers. While in LA we will be some of the select few to get a Sneak Preview of the Once Upon a Time Season 6 Premiere, "The Savior," which will be followed by a Q&A with co-creators and executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz!

The only downfall of cutting the cord and not watching much network TV is that we totally miss great movies like this. Luckily I've got you to fill me in - looks fantastic.
