Do you love to watch classic TV Christmas specials? For my family and I that is one of the things we look forward to the most, for the holiday TV watching season. We love the holiday versions of our favorite shows. We catch them when we can, but it is not always easy to see some of your classic favorites on TV. Do you remember the classic episode of The Andy Griffith Show where they made the potent cucumbers? That Christmas special was one of my favorites, and now it is available on DVD!
Bring the heartwarming joy of Mayberry home with The Andy Griffith Show Christmas Special, featuring unedited versions of two episodes, both colorized and in black and white. In “The Christmas Story” local ‘Scrooge,’ Ben Weaver (Will Wright), manages to have harmless bootlegger Sam Muggins thrown into jail on Christmas, but the good folks of Mayberry have a unique plan of their own. Meanwhile, “The Pickle Story” follows Aunt Bee (Francis Bavier) as she decides to enter her homemade pickles in the annual county fair contest – only they taste like “kerosene cucumbers”!
The Andy Griffith Show stars Andy Griffith as the widowed sheriff of the fictional small community of Mayberry, North Carolina. Andy’s life is complicated by an inept, but well-meaning deputy, Barney Fife (Don Knotts), a spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee, and a precocious young son, Opie (Ron Howard). Rating: Not Rated Runtime: 45 min, 7 sec
