Visit the Grand Lux Cafe an amazing meal with delicious house made food you will love!

Do you ever just want to go out with the family and have a meal that tastes homemade and is quality, but you do not have to cook it? Well in my family every Saturday is family day, a day that we unplug and we go out and just spend time doing things as a family, from going to a show, or a museum to just a fun day at the mall, as long as we are together that is fine with me. We like to eat out as well each Saturday and this past family day we had an amazing lunch at Grand Lux Cafe. For those who are not familiar with this restaurant chain, here is a little more information about the Grand Lux Cafe:

Created by the insatiable founders of The Cheesecake Factory®, The Grand Lux Cafe was inspired by extensive European travel exploring Italian trattorias, French bistros and the grand cafes and pastry shops of Vienna. Blending the grandeur and luxury of European cafes with the sensibilities and spirit of an all-American restaurant. With 11 locations across the country, their upscale-casual eatery offers guests a unique dining experience from cuisine to décor. Every item is prepared fresh to order in our open-style kitchen, using only the finest ingredients such as Certified Angus, Prime, Kobe Beef, Jumbo U15 Shrimp, and organic herbs.
The Grand Lux Cafe is a majestic restaurant with a high ceiling and fire place, a “fancy” restaurant without the high prices and the snooty atmosphere. This is a restaurant for families, couples and single folks.  I love the upscale atmosphere, but there is no need to dress up, just come as you are and enjoy an amazing meal that is freshly made. Grand Lux is a restaurant with house made food that is unlike any chain I have been to. My family and I adored this The Grand Lux Cafe Weekend Lunch from start to finish. The lunch started off with a freshly baked bread basket. Who can say no to warm bread and soft butter? I know I can’t say no, warm bread is irresistible to me.

But even more amazing then the bread is the vast selection of items to choose from at the Grand Lux Café. Do you feel like eating Italian, or American or food with an Asian flair well the Grand Lux Café has all of these types of food and much much more!
For our lunch we stared out with 2 delicious appetizers including: The Double Stuffed Potato Spring Rolls® - Creamy Mashed Potatoes with a Touch of Green Onion, Rolled in Crispy Asian Wrappers Topped with Melted Cheddar, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Green Onion. Served with Sour Cream.
These were like the best potato skins (minus the skins) you have ever had. Cheese green onions potato’s and bacon. Oh goodness the richness and yumminess. Oh I could have eaten these all day.
Next up was a favorite we love to get at other restaurants, but it was the first time trying them here, the  Fried Pickles - Crispy Slices Served with Our Remoulade Sauce.

For those who have never tried fried pickles, don’t let the idea scare you… It may sounds a bit weird, but they are salty and flavorful a great fried food. And these were served with a great remoulade sauce that complemented the pickles very well.
You can fill up on just appetizers if you so choose, since there are so many appetizers and small plates this would be great for a group to share and just try a few before a movie or with some drinks. Speaking of drinks there is a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for your drinking pleasure.

My daughter and I decided on going tropical with some non-alcoholic drinks including the Hawaiian Smoothie - Mango, Passion Fruit, Pineapple and Coconut Blended with Ice. And the Island Cooler - Tropical Juices with Fresh Lemon and Sprite. These were each sweet and refreshing, and great to look at. We were told that because we were seated in the entrance area of the restaurant, more than one patron saw our drinks and needed to order them too, because they looked so great.

My daughter is a burger kind of gal, seem like everywhere we go a burger must be ordered, so guess what she wanted to eat today…Hmm? You got it a burger! She went a little outside of the box (well for her…) with The Bacon-Cheese Burger - Topped with Crisp Applewood Smoked Bacon, Melted American Cheese, Grilled Onions and Thousand Island.
This burger was served with fries and the entire meal was gigantic!  And my daughter assured me it was delicious, even though she did not share.. I will have to take her word for it!
I like to try different things, like the things I would not necessarily make for myself, so I went with the unique Korean Fried Chicken "Burrito" -Crispy Korean Style Fried Chicken, Jicama, Carrots, Onion, Lettuce, Cilantro, Sesame Seeds and Steamed Rice with Sriracha Mayo in a Soft Tortilla. Served with Kim Chi.
This had a kick! It was a great version of Mexican food spliced with Korean food all wrapped up in an easy to eat burrito. This was also a nice size, I was only able to eat half! Don’t worry the food came home with me!

A part of the Weekend Brunch (Grand Lux Cafe Weekend Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays. Check your local Grand Lux Cafe locations for times) on weekends you can go with the full menu or the brunch menu your choice. my husband opted for lunch to go with the "Churro" French Toast - A Grand Lux Original with Thick, Crispy Pieces of Custardy French Toast Covered with Cinnamon-Sugar, Chocolate and Dulce de Leche Caramel Sauce.
After having this French toast, my husband declared that he may never be able to order anything else from The Grand Lux Café again, as long as this French toast is on the menu. Yes he liked it that much, the cinnamon and sugar were plentiful, and the toast pieces were large and very soft.  This was like a dessert and a meal all rolled up into one, a decadent breakfast dish.
Now we were all very much full, but who can leave without trying dessert especially when the options are mouthwatering? My daughter always gets beignets when we visit Disney World so she was excited to try the New Orleans Beignets - Served Warm with Three Sauces.

These warm pillows of goodness, were covered in powdered sugar and came with chocolate, berry and vanilla dipping sauces. This is a dessert an entire family could share she had 8 large beignets, YES there was a ton! They were nice and soft and warm, and my daughter would love to get these again.
My husband opted for the Warm Butter Cake - Warm Buttery Vanilla Cake with a Rich Creamy Center, Served with Fresh Strawberries and Vanilla Ice Cream. The rich butter cake is a favorite of my husbands, well what is not to love. If you have never had a butter cake, just imagine the most rich and most cake you have ever had, then add more buttery richness then you have a butter cake.
Did you know that 2/21 is National Sticky Bun day? Well to prepare for this day I simply had to try the Warm Sticky Bun Bread Pudding - Served with Whiskey Sauce, Sugared Pecans and Whipped Cream. Wow, wow, wow… Two of my favorite desserts all wrapped into one, bread pudding and oooey gooey sticky buns. Yes this was as divinely delicious as it looks.

Would you like to try this amazing dessert? You can celebrate National Sticky Bun on Tuesday, February 21 and experience Grand Lux Cafe’s amazing Warm Sticky Bun Bread Pudding dessert!   Simply take a trip to your local Grand Lux Café or you can come back here for the recipe for the one and only Grand Lux Cafe Warm Sticky Bun Bread Pudding! I want to share my experience making the divine bread pudding, and you can see how it comes out at home. Be sure to stay tuned for that recipe post!
