Fire & Grain an amazing new restaurant at the Hershey Lodge #HersheyPA #SweetestMoms

We just had the chance to eat at the brand new restaurant in the Hershey Lodge, Fire & Grain. When I say brand new, I mean brand new! It still had the new restaurant smell. When we sat our server informed us they had only been open for 3 days and thought all of the kinks were worked out. They were and then some.

From start to finish this restaurant was simply amazing and arguably the best meal we've had at Hershey, and we've been coming to Hershey for 20 years! Such a unique and well thought out menu from appetizers to dessert this menu was superb. I'm not just saying this, I truly mean it. We were greeted with warm freshly baked bread with a salted butter, this was divine! I could have just sat there and eaten the bread all night, but there were so much more great items to try we could not fill up on bread!

A special drink that caught my eye was the fresh blueberry mojito, as a mojito fan, I just had to try this. It was sweet and refreshing and full of delicious blueberries, I would love to try this again one day.

For starters, we had the twice cooked crispy potatoes with braised short rib and the Buffalo chicken meatballs with polenta. The potatoes were off the charts good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The braised short rib was falling apart, and it was bursting with flavor, I've eaten a lot of short rib in my life and this is near or at the top that I've had. The Buffalo meatballs were so unique we had to try them as well.
They are what they seem to be, chicken meatballs in a wing sauce over polenta, the polenta was infused with blue cheese to match perfectly with the Buffalo sauce. It was a cool take on the classic chicken wing.
For our entrees, I had the Linguini and Clams with bacon, garlic, and chili. My husband had the steak burger with slow roasted tomato, caramelized onion, thick cut bacon and blue cheese (my husband changed the blue cheese to cheddar, he likes blue cheese but typically not on his burgers) and the burger came with another serving of the twice cooked potatoes (minus the short rib.) And our daughter had the kids cheeseburger and fruit. What can I say? This was simply stunning food, again, I'm being totally honest and sincere. The linguine and clams were great.
I'm accustomed to just the clam sauce that comes from a can, while that's pretty good, it just simply cannot compare to a freshly made sauce. The clam pieces were more like chunks and not pieces, the sauce had just enough chili to give it a nice kick and helped enhance the flavor. The burgers were legit, my husband and now daughter are burger snobs.
My husband took the bun off to inspect his burger, it was fresh and handmade, this isn't a frozen hockey puck! The grill marks were present and so was a whole world of flavor. The kid's burger was the same just on a smaller scale and with less on it.

I was glad to see that, kids deserve to eat good food too and my daughter chowed down on her burger. My husband raved about the flavor, he said the roasted tomato was the kicker, the burst of flavor it added was just icing on the cake....or burger.  Dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. I went with the Peach and Blackberry Cobbler, my husband opted for the Sticky Bread (cinnamon caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream.) We shared our dessert's with our daughter and she enjoyed going back and forth. My cobbler was delicious, my only beef was the seeds of the blackberries, the taste was great but those seeds! My husband found his spirit dessert. As he said to me this was him on a plate.
I've known my husband for 22 years and he loves cinnamon and bread pudding and this was the best combination of them all....and it had vanilla ice cream to boot! He kept saying this is me on a plate. It was good, think the best part of a cinnamon bun (that gooey, mushy center) with vanilla ice cream and a cinnamon caramel sauce. What's not to like??

I still can't believe that this was a brand new restaurant! The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious. The decor was modern, bright, and welcoming. This is a restaurant I know we will go back to.....my husband already stated it!  If you're heading to Hershey Park (and you should, it's fun!) and you get hungry and want some truly delicious and interesting food head on over to the Hershey Lodge (it's only a few minute drive from the park) and head into the Fire and Grain restaurant, you'll not regret it.
