A day at Castaway Cay, Disney's own private island! #DisneySMMC

****I was invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Land and Sea Celebration conference. I paid a conference fee to attend. I received a discounted rate for my stay. All opinions are my own. I have not been compensated or asked to post about Disney.****

We were finally here! A place I have dreamed of visiting for years! Well, who wouldn't love to visit a private island? An oasis filled tropical paradise. The last full day on our first Disney Cruise was Sunday, our Castaway Cay day!

From 8:30 am to 4:45 pm we would be able to explore, shop, rest, and do just about anything we wanted on this island of splendor. And yes the food is also included, all you care to enjoy! As we pulled up to the dock, the sneak peek of the island was magnificent! I knew we were going to be in for an island paradise!

If you were inclined you could get off of the ship and head off to do the Castaway Cay 5K, this was totally optional (anyone 10 an up can sign up for this fun run). My mom and I sat this one out, but maybe next time?

I was just in awe of the beauty of the island. I had never visited anywhere with such blue clear water. Most of my shore time has been spent on the Jersey Shore.

Sure Wildwood/Cape May/Ocean City have their charms but they do not have white sand and beautiful blue water. I have been accustomed to a brown water, boy have I been missing out. This was paradise at its finest! Now it was time to do whatever we wanted. Do we want to plan an extracurricular activity? Parasailing? Or snorkeling? Hmm? We decided to just do our own things. My mom wanted to lay out that soak up the sun and I wanted to explore and shop.

There were plenty of cool places to shop from Disney friendly favorites to some Bahamian classics that were must buys. I explored the island from top to bottom, there was plenty to check out and explore. I loved the cute little stores and food places.
What if I told you there was an all you care to enjoy soft serve station, that you can serve yourself! From vanilla, chocolate, vanilla/chocolate swirl to banana, strawberry and a banana/strawberry swirl. There were plenty of sweet treats to enjoy. I enjoyed the soft serve so much, I even got a little better with my swirls! I did not mind getting the practice in!

Sure we have been enjoying the amazing food on the Disney Dream. But there was more to enjoy on the island! We had a family lunch at Cookies BBQ, there was everything you could want at a BBQ. Hamburgers, Hot dogs, chicken, plenty of salads, chips sides and yummy banana bread, and pineapple loaf for dessert.

I could not decide so I got a bit of a lot of the items. The spicy chicken sandwich was amazing! I wish they had this on the ship, I would have had one every day. Yummy!

After a day of sunning and shopping my mother and I soaked up the last minutes of our time at Castaway Cay, we are already dreaming of going back. We took it easy and relaxed, it was really what I needed after a Disney vacation and a jammed packed cruise. Ahh, I can close my eyes and I am back in paradise! Have you ever visited Castaway Cay? I would love to hear about it.

Castaway Cay is incredible, isn't it? The sand and that incredible blue water! I haven't been since 2000 but really want to return ASAP. I wish Disney had a non-moms panel!
