Licorice International Review (and a Giveaway)

Licorice International offers nearly 160 types of licorice from 12 countries. In addition, its Haymarket store stocks a line of fine chocolates as well as other gourmet foods and candy dishes. They carry licorice from all over the world.

I was lucky enough to be able to try: Cinnamon Lava Balls, Sour worms, and as an added bonus they sent me Old-Fashioned  snaps.

My Review:

I had the chance to sample some candy from Licorice International (http://www.licoriceinternational.com) the hardest part of this review was deciding what to try! We opted to sample Sour Gummy Worms, and Señor Cinnamon had to have Cinnamon Lava balls. And as a surprise we were given a bag of assorted licorice that made my Mother-in-law very happy, what cinnamon is to her son assorted licorice is to her.  He gets it honestly.

My daughter loves sour candy, she gets a kick out of anything that makes her pucker and these worms made her pucker, I thought she was going to swallow her lips at one point she was puckering so bad. Did she stop eating the worms? NO! She went back for more. They are really good worms, a nice amount of sour and sweetness, a perfect blend in my opinion.

The Cinnamon Lave balls were  HOT! Wow! My husband was sitting there popping them like they were candy, I know they’re candy but they’re atomic. I saw him just eating them like normal and asked to try one, he reluctantly gave me one, and I got the lava ball and the stink eye. I began chewing the candy and began getting the sweats, these lava balls are really hot. I mean hot, nuclear, Africa hot. My husband just sat there and chuckled at my pain, they were too hot for me, but for Señor Cinnamon they were perfect. Once the initial hotness wore off they actually did have a very good cinnamon flavor but they aren’t for the faint of heart.

These are just a very small sampling of what Licorice International has to offer, they have a wide variety of candy and even offer sugar free and gluten free products. Until I found Licorice International I had no idea that there was even such a thing as New Zealand licorice and English licorice. Their name really does suit their company; they have a world of licorice all in one spot.

My daughter enjoying the sour worms!
