We have arrived in Disneyland (Well Anaheim at least...)

We recently returned from our week long vacation at Disneyland, we had a fantastic time even though our bodies took a day to catch up with us! That time zone change is killer! Our flights were good, my husband now found an airport that he considers worse than ours in Philly that would be Midway in Chicago. It’s laid out funky and there aren’t enough seats, you’re all on top of each other and very cramped.  On our layover we had a quick lunch at Harry Carey’s 7th Inning Stretch, we had quite possibly the best mac n cheese we’ve ever eaten the cheese was soooo good and had a wonderfully smokey flavor. We boarded our next plane and were off to the John Wayne airport, which seems to be under some heavy construction.

This was an interesting airport; it runs both commercial and private planes and the runways are a little shorter making the landing a little interesting, it was like a Frank Costanza move, stop short and make a grab. It was a hard landing to say the least. We rented our car and were on our way!

Getting from the airport to the hotel wasn’t too tough; we got a little thrown off of course but not by much and it took us about 20 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. The hotel we stayed at was the Disneyland Hotel, which is also under heavy construction, we checked in and were given a room in Frontier Tower which didn’t make me happy but we were told there were no other rooms available at this time. We made our way to the room and weren’t happy. It’s a long walk, we weren’t near anything, my husband quipped they put us in a tower that’s closer to Philly than Anaheim! The room was nice, smaller than what we’re used to in the Poly but still a very nice room. It only had 2 queen beds, which meant one of us had to sleep with our daughter who can’t sleep normal. She twists and contorts and travels in her sleep up and down the bed. It wasn’t going to work…I just had to try and get another room! I didn’t want to be in this tower and I was hell bent on trying to get into another building. I made a phone call in within 10 minutes we were leaving the Frontier Tower heading back to the main lobby located in the Fantasy Tower to change our rooms. From the time I checked in to the time I made this phone call someone just so happened to “not like” their room in Adventure Tower and that’s where they were putting us. We got new keys and headed to our new room.

 Our view.

The Adventure Tower was perfect, the room was nice and this time it had 2 queens and a day bed! That meant that our daughter could sleep by herself! Hallelujah!

We had a renovated room, it had the flat screen TV and the coolest headboard that played A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes and lit up like fireworks. The bathroom was nice, double sinks and the toilet was in a separate room. But for the love of Pete can we please get a decent shower head! I understand about conservation and waste, but because of the low flow you have to tack on an extra 5 minutes minimum, just put regular shower heads in, I’d be willing to pay a few bucks a day more just to be able to take a decent shower! Our view wasn’t the best but we learned years ago don’t pay for views; we were overlooking the construction of the new pool and could see the monorail pool as well. We dropped and were off to the park. The coolest thing about the Adventure Tower is that it’s the closet tower to Downtown Disney; we were right near the walkway that led us through Downtown Disney to Disneyland and the California Adventure. We couldn’t have asked for a better location.

Off to the park!
