I was able to review the Spiced Sour Cherry Spread. the Winner of a 2011 Sofi Gold Award (the food equivalent to an Oscar)

An intensely cherry favored spread produced by simmering sour Morello cherries, both whole and pureed, tart dried cherries and spices with red Burgundy wine.

The cherry spread is made in small batches to ensure high quality, the spread is natural, and gluten-free  and vegan. It contains no preservatives and is also low in fat and sodium.

My Review:

I was so happy to be able to review the Spiced Sour Cherry Spread from the gracious gourmet, after all this won the food equivalent to an Oscar, I have never tried an award winning of that caliber before. And the Spiced Sour Cherry Spread did not disappoint. I made a easy and delicious and quick desert, I made mini cheese cakes and topped them with the Gracious Gourmet's Spiced Sour Cherry Spread.

The spread was very good, it wasn't a hot spice, it was more of a holiday type of warming spice, it reminded me of home during the holidays. I can see how this has won awards, it is unique and tasty.

The recipe:

Ingredients

• 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
• 1/3 cup white sugar
• 1-3/4 eggs
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• Spiced Sour Cherry Spread

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cupcake pans with paper cupcake liners.
• In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar. Stir in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla. Spoon into cupcake pans to fill about 2/3 to 3/4 full.
• Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
• When cooled top with desired amount of  Spiced Sour Cherry Spread

The dessert was elegant and simple, and delicious! My family just raved about it, they especially loved the spread it went so well with the cheesecake  but you can also serve this with chicken, duck, pork or game. Or use it to top ice cream.
