Zac Omega and Zac Attack Bars- Review (And a Giveaway)

About Zac Omega (From the website)

Since 1998 Tom Fitzgerald and his family owned bakery has served hospitals, school districts and universities, catering companies, grocery stores, and coffee shops with fresh made-from-scratch baked goods.
Because Tom has always worked closely with his distributors and customers to provide products that fit their needs, Zac Bars Inc. has evolved through the years to meet your demand for more nutritional products for our children.

Three years ago Tom embraced the future, listening to concerned parents and forward thinking school professionals and developed Zac Attack and Zac Omega snack bars.  These two specially formulated bars meet or exceed the criteria set forth by school systems today.  Simple natural ingredients (easily recognizable in most home kitchens) with no preservatives are formulated into a delicious snack/breakfast bar that both children and adults love.
Each bar contains 6 grams of protein and more than 80% daily value of ALA Omega-3 fatty acids derived from flax seeds.  Omega – 3 fatty acids are a very important component essential to normal growth in young children;  and because the source is flaxseed there is no unpleasant fish taste.  The bars are made from scratch using 100% whole grains. Zac Omega and Zac Attack Bars are filled with real fruit that is locally grown in the Northwest and processed especially for our bakery.

More and more studies are showing that omega-3 fatty acids can be an effective therapy for children with autism, and we are pleased to say that many parents of children with autism have experienced positive results when supplementing a child’s diet with Zac Omega bars.
There is an enormous push for better foods offered through our school systems, that our children will eat.  We have heard your plea, and we are ready to help you, “Get On Board!”

My Review:

I’m not going to pull any punches, I’m just going to come right out and say what’s on my mind. Zac Omega Bars (http://zacomega.com/) are without a doubt the best tasting snack bars we’ve ever had. Ever had a Nutrigrain bar? Zac Omega Bars blow them out of the water!

We received a few bars and were able to sample both the Zac Omega and the Zac Attack bars. Zac Attack bars are a little wider than the Zac Omega and they come in whole oats and apple and whole oats and strawberry. The Omega bars are more of your tradition sized breakfast bar and they are available in honey oat apple pie, marion berry (not named for the former Mayor of DC) cobbler, peanut butter and strawberry jam, honey oat raspberry and honey oat strawberry.

After eating all the bars in less than a day I took a poll of the 3 of us to decide which was the flavor winner….we all picked different flavors! I loved the peanut butter and strawberry jam, my husband loved the marion berry which tastes like a cross between a grape and a raspberry, and our daughter loved the honey oat and strawberry.

The best thing of all is that these bars are healthy and loaded with 6 grams of protein and Omega-3, great tasting and healthy what more could you want in a snack? It’s something the kids (and adults) will be asking to eat and you won’t have to worry about what they’re putting into their bodies. It’s really a perfect snack. Zac Omega has offered one of my readers a  Zac Omega and Zac Attack Bars a variety pack case of 30 to 40 bars.
