Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads – Review (And a Giveaway)

About Stonefire (from the website)

It’s all about authenticity, it’s about being worldly, and it’s about family.
“Don’t fight tradition” is a familiar saying at the Ajmera family table. And this is always referred to in regards to flatbreads, the world’s oldest breads. For the family, the start of the journey in creating Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads was all about being true to the history, heritage and homage of these worldly breads.
The Ajmera’s are very aware that the tradition of making flatbreads has been in existence for over 6,000 years. With participation from almost every corner of the world (from India comes Naan and Roti, from the Mediterranean comes Pita) the intrigue in bringing all the different shapes and textures of flatbreads to North America began.

The Stonefire adventure was rooted with two unbreakable rules. Rule #1 – The flatbreads had to be utterly authentic. Only traditional baking methods and the finest ingredients would be used. Why break with tradition? Rule #2 – The flatbreads would be “preservative free” just as they were years ago.

My Review:

As a working mom, I am always on the go and finding new and delicious things for my family to eat is a great thing, and my family just loves Stonefire Naan.

My family was very lucky to be able to try each favor of naan, plain, wheat, and garlic naan. I you are not sure what naan is, Naan is soft, flatbread of India, baked in a tandoor oven. It is hand-stretched and made of natural ingredients, free of preservatives, additives, artificial colors, trans fat and hydrogenated oils. Naan can be used for so many things.  You can use it for pizza, dips, sandwiches and so much more!

My family is a big fan of naan, first trying it at Sanaa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  The waitress told us that we simply must try it, and we figured why not? So we ordered the naan as appetizer and we were instantly naan fans. So when I told my family they would be able to review Stonefire Naan they were excited.  When the naan arrived, my daughter could not wait to try some. So I made her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the wheat naan, (it is not as weird as it sounds, it looked good) and she loved it! I also cut some up and used it with a dip, yum!

For lunch I made a naan quesadilla for my daughter, again she was a fan. It is nice to be able to break up her lunch options. I am sure it gets boring eating plain sandwiches every day.  The Stonefire naan and so many fillers sure makes for a better lunch.

I served the garlic naan as a “garlic bread” as a side to a spaghetti dinner I served my husband. The smell that came out of the bag was mouthwatering! My husband said he could just eat the naan alone, it was so flavorful that it did not need topping.

Naan with a dip. Just delicious!

With the last original naan I made an appetizer.  I used a cheese spread on the original naan and baked it for a few minutes in the oven. Naan is best when served warm. The cheese naan appetizer was a big hit with my husband, he raved about it and said that I should make it again in the near future.

I was able to try the naan as well. I am currently on nutrisystem and a lunch option is a tuna sandwich on whole gran. So instead of bread I used the whole grain naan. It was delicious!

It is great that the Stonefire products are preservative free, and can be frozen so they are great for my family!
