Holiday Gift Guide: Cowgirl Chocolates – Review and a chance to win!

Are you looking for a great stocking stuffer that will be great tasting and different? Well I would like to introduce you to Cowgirl Chocolates:

About Cowgirl Chocolates (from the website)

Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997. Her two favorite things in the world are art (she has a notable career as a ceramic sculptor) and chocolate. In fact her first job was working in a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania. Marilyn mingled some favorite memories with some new ideas to create an American original, Cowgirl Chocolates...chocolates with a spicy cowgirl kick. She was the pioneer, one of the first companies to offer spicy chocolates in the world.

I was fortunate to be able to try a few of the brand new truffle bars!

The new bars are as follows:

Spicy Dark Chocolate Almond (extra Spicy)
Spicy Dark Chocolate Raspberry
Spicy Milk Chocolate Toffee (Extra Spicy)
Spicy Milk Chocolate Mint

Mild Dark Chocolate
Mild Dark Chocolate Green Tea
Mild Milk Chocolate Mint
Mild Milk Chocolate Hazelnut

I was lucky enough to be able to try 4 of the new flavors:

Spicy Dark Chocolate Almond (extra Spicy)
Spicy Milk Chocolate Mint
Mild Dark Chocolate
Mild Milk Chocolate Hazelnut

The Head Cowgirl has been back in the kitchen working on our award winning truffle bars and now they're back, bigger and better than before! When just a truffle isn't enough ride up to the general store and fill up your saddle-bag with our new 1.76 oz truffle bars. Watch out though the head cowgirl threw in some extra spice to kick things up a notch. 8 flavors - 4 Mild (not spicy) and 4 (super) Spicy. Choose 'em and enjoy 'em!

Wow spicy chocolates, what an idea… Wow when they say spicy they sure do mean spicy! Let’s first start with the Spicy Milk Chocolate Mint, it was first sweet chocolaty and minty… then pow! The heat kicked it.  I have to say it was hot, not hot enough to make you cry.. but very hot.

Now after the regular spicy bar I was too scared to try the Spicy Dark Chocolate Almond (extra Spicy) I left that up to my husband, and he said it was the hottest chocolate bar he has ever had! The bar had him sweating, and he said the bar was not for the weak of heart, you really have to be a spicy food lover to appreciate the flavor of the extra spicy bars.

My daughter just loved the Mild Milk Chocolate Hazelnut bar, she said it was sweet, and not spicy at all. My mother-in-law just loves dark chocolate so she was in charge of trying the Mild Dark Chocolate bar. She loved it and said it had a great strong chocolate flavor.

I would have loved to have tried the Mild Dark Chocolate Green Tea bar, I am such a big green tea fan, and to try it in a chocolate bar… That must be delicious! What a combo.

So the bars were a hit with my family, and I am sure they will be a hit with yours!

The bars retail from $2.50 to $3.00 each, so they would make a great stocking stuffer. I would love to have some chocolate in my stocking this year.
