Lucky Leaf Pie Filling Recipe Book Review (And a Giveaway)

It is the holiday’s again, and what is the holidays without great baked goods? Well our family are great fans of all kinds of sweets, and we especially love baked goods with fruits.  Well Lucky Leaf premium pie fillings is there to help me this season. They are not just for pies! There are so many great uses for the filling! Here is a little information about this great company.

About Lucky Leaf (from the website)

Since 1949 Lucky Leaf has stayed true to its mission  of providing simple, delicious dessert products for families across the United States by constantly improving our products
to meet the changing needs of our customers.
At first, Lucky Leaf was solely dedicated to fresh applesauce. But as the American woman became too busy to make her delicious homemade pies from scratch, we took care of the hard part and started making ready-to-use apple pie filling. In no time, Lucky Leaf Ready-To-Use Apple Pie Filling hit the shelves and those delicious apple pies were back on windowsills across America.

With the success of our apple pie filling, America’s appetite for Lucky Leaf grew. We responded to America’s hunger by expanding our line of flavors. That’s why today you have a number of delicious varieties like our line of Premium Cherry, Apple, Blueberry, Lemon, Red Raspberry, Lite, and Crème in your grocery stores — so you can make whichever type of pie you want quickly and easily.
60 years later, we still say, “Make it easy. Make it delicious. Make it with Lucky Leaf” and we will continue to improve our product to meet the needs of our customers for 60 years to come.

My Review:

I was very lucky to be able to try out some of the great recipes in  Lucky Leaf’s new recipe booklet. There were so many delicious looking, and different recipes in this book. I could not figure out what I wanted to make first. I would have made everything (in fact I just may one day) but I have to pace myself, or we will have a kitchen full of sweets!  I decided to make a few of my favorites first:

I made the Apple Spice Babycakes, and the Sweet Vanilla Cherry Cake.

When baking I love to include my daughter, she just loves to help and I love the time we spend together. This is quality time with no TV’s or video games.  She loves to help measure and mix : ) And the holidays are not complete without having a house filled with the wonderful aroma of baking.. mmm It just brings me back to my childhood, when I would bake with my mother. So I guess that is why I enjoy baking so much with my daughter.

Each of the recipes were simple to make. The Apple Spice Babycakes filled the house with a delightful smell, apples and spice. It was mouthwatering.

The Sweet Vanilla Cherry Cake, was so very delicious, my husband said it reminded him of the cherry dessert that came with tv dinners of the past. This was the only way you could get him to eat a tv dinner, the delicious cherry dessert. So this brought back some childhood memories for my husband, and needless to say he loved this too.

I brought some of the Apple Spice Babycakes and the Sweet Vanilla Cherry Cake. They raved about them! And they were gone before I knew it.

I have to say the recipes are very different in this book. And I love to try new things. Sure cherry pie is great, but who would not love a Cherry Chocolate Macaroon pie? Now if you bring that to a holiday party, that will surely be loved!

So if you are heading to a holiday party, and you are not sure what to bring.. How about a dessert you made? A great dessert made from Lucky Leaf premium pie fillings.  Your dessert will surely be the hit of the party! Make sure to check out all of the Great Lucky Leaf recipes on the site for some more great ideas.

I cannot wait until Christmas morning guess what I am making for breakfast? Sweet Apple-Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal. That is going to be a great treat, I am sure it will be delicious! I am sure my little helper will love to lend a hand with this too.
