Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

I see this question posed a lot on the message boards and asked a lot on podcasts, is the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party worth it? It’s a tricky question, on one hand you’re getting access to the park with a limited number of people and getting to see special parades and fireworks. On the other hand it’s really just an expensive cookie. We’ve been to 3 Christmas parties and have had good times; it’s nice to be able to walk onto rides that normally have a hefty wait time. But if you use a good touring plan you won’t be waiting long anyway.

What I always tell people is if you’ve never gone to a Christmas party and you can afford the tickets go once, that way you’ve done it and seen what it’s all about. You’ll have a good time and see Main St. all decked out in Christmas décor and the snow is cool even though it’s soap and you don’t want it in your hot chocolate or getting onto your camera lens. If you compare the Christmas party to the Halloween party though well then that’s not a fair fight.

I’m not even a Halloween person, Halloween ranks behind Arbor Day and talk like a Pirate day in my book (it’s a looooong story why I’m anti Halloween.) But the Halloween party is the alpha party at the World, the parade, the candy, the fireworks it just feels like a better bang for your buck. Just seeing the Grave Diggers do their thing at the parade is worth the price of admission alone! I walk out of the Magic Kingdom with a couple bags full of candy for my price of admission at the Christmas party I get a cookie. Hence the statement of it’s an expensive cookie.

When I’m King of the world I’m going to scrap over-priced hard ticket parties and just bring back E-Ticket Night. Nothing beat that! You paid 10 bucks and had the park almost to yourself. There were less E-Ticket’s sold than party tickets so it was really cool and really cheap. Really cheap…..now that’s something you don’t normally see at the World!
