The Pirates! Band of Misfits - Release Date 4/27/12

We had the opportunity to see a preview of a movie that is coming out today, The Pirates Band of Misfits  If you’re looking for a great movie to see with the whole family this is the movie for you. We really enjoyed the movie, it was funny and not just for the kids it had some jokes in there for the parents as well but nothing that would make you blush. 

The story is about a bunch of “pirates” I use quotes because they’re not very good at what they do but they seem to enjoy it, they’re led by the Pirate Captain voiced by Hugh Grant, it didn’t sound like him I was waiting for the stammering way he normally talks and that didn’t happen. But in a nutshell the Pirate Captain wants to win Pirate of the year, something he has tried to win for ages but due to incompetence he never comes close. He’s such a spaz at pirating that his parrot isn’t even a parrot it’s a dodo and the dodo’s don’t even know they’re ships parrot Polly isn’t a parrot! 

Once the band of misfits run into Charles Darwin all sorts of hilarity ensues, and well that’s pretty much where I have to stop because I don’t want to spoil anything. I must say that the 3D was really well done and very crisp, the water looked so real that I thought I could go swimming! I loved the movie, my husband loved the movie and my daughter really loved the movie. So all three of us totally recommend the movie it’s a fun time for the whole family.
