Holiday Gift Guide Ninja 3 in 1 Cooking system review (And a Giveaway)

Are you looking for a great gift idea for this holiday season?  I would like to introduce you all to a great cooker that everyone needs! A Ninja cooking system, here is a little more information about the 3 in 1 Ninja cooking system form the website:

The revolutionary way to prepare more flavorful meals faster than ever before!
- Use the same advanced steam technology as the finest restaurants
- Prepare meals up to 50% faster*

Heat from the Bottom & Sides
Now you can sear and sauté right in the bottom of the pot before slow cooking.  With the Ninja® Cooking System, it’s like having a stovetop built right into your oven! And direct heat from the sides means foods cook with a delicious golden brown crust. Plus super-heated steam for juicier, healthier meals made up to 50% faster* and with less fat**!

I was very fortunate to be able to try this great system at my home:

Slow cooking is something I always left to my grandmother and mother; it’s something I associated with the old school way of cooking. Although the idea of putting something in a pot and letting it cook for hours and not having to fuss over it is intriguing. I was given the chance to try a NinjaCooking System  and let me tell you my idea of slow cooking has changed!

This past Sunday was a lazy day for us, we just decided to sit around and take it easy, so I thought today is the ideal time to kick the tires on my Ninja Cooking System. I managed to pry my husband loose from football pregame shows long enough to help me get things started in the span of 20 minutes the Ninja was out of the box, cleaned and the food was prepped for it to cook. I had bought a pork loin and decided to give it a whirl in the slow cooker rather than the oven and the Ninja made cooking it a snap. A simple recipe of pork loin, potatoes, carrots, a chipotle pepper and chicken broth was transformed into fork tender deliciousness in just under 6 hours.

Spicy roasted pork and vegetables

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 canned chipotle chile peppers in adobo sauce, chopped*
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 2 1/2- to 3-pound boneless pork shoulder roast
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • Small pepper chopped
  • A cup of chopped carrots

1. Lightly coat a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine chipotles, salt, pepper, and paprika. Rub mixture over the pork. Place pork in the slow cooker. Top with potatoes, onion carrots and peppers 2. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 8 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours. * Because hot chile peppers, such as chipotles, contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes, avoid direct contact with chiles as much as possible. Be cautious and wear gloves and do not touch your eyes.

The pork loin literally was shake tender what I mean is you pick up the loin give it a light shake and watch the meat fall apart. I was stunned at the ease and simplicity and cleanup was a breeze. The Ninja is amazing, not only will it slow cook for you but it will also roast, bake and let you cook everything in one pot. I can’t wait to bake in it; I’m really looking forward to giving that a shot, baking in a slow cooker…. Wow! It’s the Swiss Army knife of cooking, so many uses packed into a really cool looking pot that doesn’t’ look like your grandmother’s traditional slow cook pot. Sleek and modern and with many more options than its old school counterpart this is the way to cook!

My husband was so impressed he made plans for our families to get together with us on New Year’s Day for pulled pork sandwiches that will be made in the Ninja. New Year’s Day is pretty big here in Philadelphia with the Mummers parade and our house being only a block away from the parade route is a stopping point for our families, they’ll be fed well thanks to the Ninja that is if my husband will share any of the pulled pork!

The Ninja system is not just a slow cooker, oh no it is so much more! It is a Steam Infused Roasting system, a Fast One-Pot Meal Making system, SEARIOUS™ Slow Cooking system, Steam Infused Baking system.

I am looking forward to using the Ninja for the holidays. Instead of heating up my house using my oven, the little Ninja will be able to cook just about anything I would like. From pasta and frozen meatballs a dinner in minutes, all in one pot to a delicious slow cooked meal. Don’t forget about dessert I can’t wait to make steam baked bite sized cupcakes for my guests this holiday season.

So if you are looking for a cooking system that does much more than you can imagine, and does it will just as advertised (isn’t that refreshing?) you should check out the Ninja 3 in 1 cooking system, you will love it. We surely love ours and I will be using this often. This is not something that will go in the basement to never be used again. The Ninja cooking system has a permanent spot in my kitchen, I love it.

The generous Ninja cooking folks are giving one of Susan’s Disney Family readers a chance to win their own Ninja 3 in 1 cooking system. Would you like to win? I learned that the Ninja system cooks so much more quickly than a traditional slow cooker because it heats food from the sides AND the bottom, which also means the food is more thoroughly and evenly cooked. Yay!

Steam baking is best used with cakes, cupcakes, loafs, puddings, custards and cheesecakes. Steam baking is done by adding water to the bottom of the COOKING pot and cooking on the OVEN setting. The steam created by the water helps your desserts cook more evenly, retain more moisture and give a better rise.
