Petit Jean Bacon Maple delights a great Valentine treat for your sweetie. #Recipe

Are there any meat fans in the family that would just love a bacon treat this valentine’s day?  Are you looking for the perfect addition to the holiday meal? I have a great suggestion for you. A breakfast Box from Petit Jean Meats. Here is a little info about Petit Jean Meats from the website:

Our gift pack offerings are perfect for any occasion. Whether it’s for Corporate gift giving, fund raisers, letting that special friend or family member know just how much they mean to you, awarding a business associate for a job well done, recognizing a “life changing event”, housewarming gift, Holiday meals, or just purchasing one for yourself to help stretch that all important food dollar, we have the perfect solution.

You can always count on receiving the highest quality meats, with the finest ingredients, that you’ll ever eat. Our bacon and hams are smoked for 16 hours in climate controlled smokehouses over smoldering hickory chips. We don’t use liquid smoke like many other companies do in their products today. The result is a moist, tender product that is second to none which comes from doing things the Old Fashioned Way. So if you’re looking for a great tasting ham, outstanding bacon, fantastic smoked sausage, quality hot dog with no fillers, look no further—we have it. Don’t forget to order those tasty side dishes and desserts that will top off your next meal, and make you the envy of your home. We value your business and look forward to fulfilling your meal solutions for years to come.

I was very fortunate to be able to make a great sweet treat with the delicious Petit Jean Meats bacon. As you all know I am a busy working mom I have little free time but the time I have I love to spend with my family. One of the things I love doing most with my eight year old daughter is baking together, it is a great bonding experience we both love it.  Just in time for Valentines day my daughter and I whipped up a batch of Petit Jean Bacon Maple delights, a delicious recipe I came up with on the fly for my husband. I know you may be asking bacon...? On a dessert? Isn't that odd? Well it may sound a little different but until you try it you will never know how great it is.  Here is a super easy cupcake (or cake... it is up to you) recipe that is semi homemade, made with boxed cake mix and jarred icing with special touches.

 Petit Jean Bacon Maple delights
5 Strips of delightful Petit Jean Meats Bacon
Boxed Vanilla Cake Mix
Jar of Vanilla Icing
Maple syrup
glaze for bacon
 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
 2 1/2 teaspoons milk
1 teaspoon of maple syrup

First up lets make some delicious Petit Jean Bacon, I went with the classic bacon (no peppered bacon for this treat) simply cook up about 5 strips (more if you would like to go heavy on the bacon, that is ok, I am sure it will be even more yummy) after the bacon is cooled we can start with the glaze. If you have never had glazed bacon, you have been missing out it is the best of both worlds sweet and salty, it is amazing.

When the bacon has cooled break up the crispy bacon into small bite sized pieces, then in a bowel mix the confectioners sugar milk and the teaspoon of maple syrup mix then toss in the bacon, your glaze should look like this, if it is too watery just add more confectioners sugar to thicken it up.

Then lay the glazed bacon on cookie racks to drip off the excess glaze.
Now we are ready to follow the simple instructions on the boxed cake mix, I added in a squirt of maple syrup in the mix just for a slight maple flavor.

The icing is just as easy add the ready made icing to a bowel and add 2 table spoons worth of maple syrup mix well.

After following the instructions for cupcakes on the cake mix box, after they are baked and cooled. It is time to make the delicious creations!

These are amazing cupcakes, and I will be making them again. My Valentine (mu hubby) just loved these creations, and I am sure your special Valentine will absolutely adore these bacon sweet treats. So why not order a package or two from Petit Jean Meats for them? Better yet you could order a Breakfast Box, or one of the other great gift boxes from Petit Jean Meats to make their day~

A local Donut Shop here in my home town makes Maple Bacon Bars - cream filled donuts with maple glaze and bacon on top. They are AMAZING! Your cupcakes would be a great substitute for when I am craving one but can't make it into town!

Seriously thanks for the recipe it will be a total hit at my house :) Not only do we all LOVE bacon here, but we tap around 15,000 maple trees every spring and make pure maple syrup- so I'm always looking for great maple syrup recipes to use at home and pass on to our customers, and this one looks great!
