Disney’s Cars Land Review #Disney #Travel

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of being in Anaheim and were able to stop into Disney's California Adventure with the sole purpose of one thing....checking out Cars Land! Words can not describe how incredible this land looked the Imagineer's really out did themselves.

It was sensory overload! We felt like we were plopped down in the middle of Radiator Springs, it had such a cool vibe and feel about it that we found ourselves wandering around aimlessly just transfixed on all the pretty sites and sounds. Then we were snapped into reality when we realized we wanted to ride Radiator Springs Racers.

The ride to ride when you're in DCA, we jumped into line because stand by was only 30 minutes which isn't all that bad considering I've seen and heard people waiting 5 times that long to ride. The half hour passed by quickly with all the sites to see in the queue you don't realize the time really, reading the license plates and road signs from all the states that Route 66 pass through was cool, and seeing the empty oil bottles used as wall art was a cool touch. This ride had a feel of authenticity that was odd to me....an authentic feel for a cartoon?
It really did feel like Radiator Springs was a living breathing town.
Finally it was out turn to get into a car and we got lucky to be given the front row so we had a great view of everything and there is a lot to take in. I'm sure I could ride this ride 50 times in a row and still see something new every time. The one thing that will blow you away are the animatronic cars themselves, from the expressive eye's to their lips moving (totally cool) it felt like they were real.
From tractor tipping with Mater to a ride through Ramone's House of Body Art to getting new tires from Luigi and Guido and seeing Doc Hudson up on a car lift it was all there. I don't know who wowed more out of the three of us, I think my husband might have won the wow off. I was curious to see how he felt about the ride because his second all time favorite WDW ride was Test Track (Star Tours is a firm number one that will probably never be dethroned) and now that they've “killed it” in his words, I was curious to see his reaction to the Racers ride and he just kept saying how cool was that?! Over and over........and over. The ride is a total E ticket, heck it might even be an E, F and G ticket!

One of the cooler aspects is the race at the end when they pit you against another car full of riders and you race outside to see who is the fastest and we thankfully won all three times we rode (I live with 2 sore losers who wouldn't have taken losing even a fictitious race well).

From the Racers we moved onto Maters Junkyard Jamboree because my daughter had to ride it. So we rode it and rode it and rode it and rode it. I lost track of how many rides we took she absolutely loved this ride. We kept having to try and grab the tractor's with blue eyes because they're the wildest tractor's in her opinion. From getting whipped around the track to listening to Larry the Cable Guy (Mater) singing songs that were hilarious this ride was a favorite of all of ours.

After many rides we decided to grab a bite to eat and we strolled on over to Flo's V8 Cafe where we grabbed lunch and a booth and soaked in the cool vibe of this really good restaurant. I'm hoping for a Cars Land in the Studio's in Florida just so we could have a Flo's! Great selection of non traditional counter service food and it was really good too!

We both had the pork loin because we were both interested in tasting Coca Cola BBQ sauce and it didn't disappoint! Our daughter had the mac-n-cheese in the Lightning McQueen container and thought the mac-n-cheese and the container were very cool. This restaurant had a great 50's vibe to it from the neon to the music it felt like we traveled back in time.
After Flo's we decided to wait a while before going on anything else so we took that time to browse the shops and do a little shopping. The shops are themed just as well as the rides and restaurant from Sarge's Surplus Hut (it looked like an Army hut) to Ramon'e House of Body Art to Radiator Spring's Curious these shops were all unique and had great Cars themed merchandise. After shopping it was off to do the ride that made us laugh the hardest and also worked the hardest Luigi's Flying Tires.

Luigi's Flying Tires is a large tire that 3 people can fit in and hover around a large area, the air helps you hover but it's up to you what direction you go by leaning your bodies left, right, forward and backwards. We had such a blast flying around and crashing into other people and laughing so much we were forgetting to steer! At the end of what was our last ride on Luigi's we were trapped because all the tires were bunched into one corner making for one funny scene! Don't overlook this ride if you get a chance to visit DCA it's a fun time.
We had spent several hours in Cars Land and at the end of our day we stopped by the Cozy Cone for some drinks and some desserts to just sit and relax and to take in Radiator Springs the way it should be taken in....at night! The neon lights were beautiful and really added a level of charm and uniqueness that you won't find anywhere else.

We were like moth's to flames we just kept wandering from building to building to soak it all in. If you have a chance to hang around until it gets dark do it you won't regret it. Cars Land has been a home run for DCA and now we know why, we can't wait until we get one in WDW!

If you are in the Anaheim area I would highly suggest taking a visit to this quaint little town of Radiator Springs! Your family will have a blast!

That place is absolutely amazing! If there is more to do there you wouldn't have time after Cars Land. One of my favorites if Flo's diner! I would love to see that in person. Once again, thank you for the wonderful pics and itinerary of your day!

wow, this only makes me want to go to Disneyland more. I have seen the Cars land on TV and it looks awesome. That mac & cheese also seems to be a reason to go! Disney is a master at mac & cheese.
