Why a clean Pillow is essential to our lives

The ugly truth of other pillows...

What happens in your pillow, unfortunately, stays in your pillow. There are literally thousands of dust mites living, breeding and defecating in your pillow every day.

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation:

"Dust mites may be the most common cause of year-round allergy and asthma. About 20 million Americans have dust mite allergy... Having dust mites doesn't mean that your house isn't clean. In most areas of the world, these creatures are in every house, no matter how immaculate. But it is true that keeping your home as free of dust as possible can lessen dust mite allergy." http://www.aafa.org/display.cfm?id=9&sub=18&cont=228 .   You need temperatures of at least 130 degrees to kill dust mites.

These little critters contribute to asthma and allergy attacks for the sixty million who suffer from this in the United States alone.

But Dust Mites aren't the only thing lurking in your pillow… In addition to dust mites and their feces, studies show pillows also contain mold and bacterial

organisms. A two year old bed pillow can contain one tenth or more of its weight from these allergens!! Yuck!! Honestly, most people don't wash their pillows often enough because pillows have not been made to  wash this stuff out…until now

The Fresh Air Pillow which is made completely here in America. It has an outer shell that is removable and also an inner casing that is filled with little foam pellets that are washable. So you can wash the outer shell and the inner casing in a load and be done. Plus it's made to be washed as often as you like.

So it gets your pillow clean from the inside out!

The Fresh Air Pillow is a part of a Grass Roots campaign on the Website called kickstarter. This project is half funded already, but it needs your help to get the rest of it. And I really want this to be funded because I want a pillow after watching their video and the really gross one with Matt Lauer of the Today Show,

This kickstarter campaign has less than 3 weeks to go so make sure to head on over and make a pledge. Seriously, do it just so you can get a pillow! If you make a pledge of $59 or more, you get a pillow when they hit their goal. And yes, this is a pillow that will easily wash, stay clean, cool and comfortable for many years to come. http://www.freshairpillow.com/

My feather pillow may contain mold and bacteria - but nothing feels as good as a down feather pillow to me!

Oh my I wish I hadn't read this right before going to bed! :) I know that you are right, but I have tried on of these types of pillows and they are just not comfy for me and my bad neck. I find that they get compressed and very hard. But I do keep my pillow in an allergen cover and try to purchase a new one 2x a year!
