Monopoly Empire a great new Monopoly game for family game night #Giveaway

Is your family a fan of board games? Well we are very competitive family who loves to play games and have fun together.  We have a weekly game night, it is just a great excuse to have some fun family time. We were very fortunate to be able to check out the most recent Monopoly game, Monopoly Empire, a new twist on an old favorite, here is a little more information about this new game from the website:
MONOPOLY EMPIRE Game Age: 8+; Players 2-4; Available: Summer 2013; Approximate Retail Price: $19.99 Experience everyone’s favorite property trading game in a whole new way! With the MONOPOLY EMPIRE game, kids can now buy and sell some of the world’s favorite brands. Twenty-two top brands such as Coca-Cola, Xbox, Samsung, EA and McDonald’s line the tricked out game board, letting players live out the fantasy of owning it all! Make your way around the board buying up your favorite mega brands and adding them to your billboard tower. Collect rent from your opponents based on your billboard and be the first to complete your town to win the game!

We have always loved playing Monopoly. It is just such a classic game that is great for large or small families to play together.  But this is not the Monopoly you grew up playing, this is a built up cooler version of this great game. Instead of purchasing properties from Atlantic City (the regulars, Atlantic Ave, Boardwalk etc..)  like the classic game, this game has some of your favorite companies you get to purchase them instead. You can purchase Samsung, Coke, Xbox and more. Sounds like fun right?
Well my family and I could not wait until game night to check out this fun game. As a working mother, anytime I can just unplug and relax and have fun with my family that is a great thing.  For this new Monopoly the object of the game is to build your very own empire.  Build your empire by acquiring billboards, line the billboard up to fill your empire, first to fill their empire with billboards wins!
For this version of the game there are even new tokens, I would usually chose the Scottie dog or the thimble, but for the Monopoly Empire there are a new set of tokens that include, McDonalds fries, a game controller and more. Of course I went with my favorite drink, the Coke bottle as my token. One of the coolest features of this version, there is a special icon on the dice that allows you to steal the better brands from other players by swapping the top one on the billboard.  So this makes the game more competitive, and fun!

Unlike the classic Monopoly game, this is not the multiple hour escapade to play. This is a more fast paced game, that can be played in a half hour to about forty-five minutes. Keeping our interest and giving us the opportunity to play the game over and over again.  My daughter is eight years and she is finally at the age where she can play and enjoy Monopoly games, it was nice having her enjoy the fun of a grown up game on family game night (sure it is fun for us all to play kiddie games with her, and my niece, but it was a nice change of pace to play a classic board game).

She really enjoyed playing this version of the game, she loved being able to buy companies she loves. She was especially happy with getting to get the Xbox, she is the biggest fan and thought it was cool to “own” them. So if you are looking for a fun game that the family will love, I would suggest the new Monopoly Empire game. The game retails for about $20.00 and it is available in stores nationwide.  This would make a great gift, for the game lover in your life.
