Book, Larry Gets Lost in Philadelphia #Giveaway

Poor Larry, he's always looking for a treat and he always manages to get lost....but he manages to get lost is some amazing places and manages to see all the sites along the way! In this adventure Larry travels with Pete and the family to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia (my home town) and along the way Larry managed to have a Rocky like run through the city and he took us along with him to sees all the sites our city has to offer. Here is a little more information about Larry Gets Lost in Philadelphia , from the website:
Sasquatch Books is pleased to announce the newest adventure in the bestselling Larry Gets Lost series, Larry Gets Lost in Philadelphia. This colorful picture book follows the Philadelphia adventures of Larry, a dog with a penchant for getting lost, and his owner Pete. After Larry and Pete become separated, their search for each other leads them through some of Philadelphia’s most interesting landmarks including the Liberty Bell, Independence Square, the Betsy Ross House, LOVE Park, Elfreth’s Alley, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Zoo and much more!
We encourage our daughter to read and she reads a lot, and when she saw Larry Gets Lost in Philadelphia she was excited to read the book to possibly see some places she knows and to see what kind of trouble Larry could manage to get himself into. She'd be reading the book and we'd hear her say I know where that is! Larry traversed the city and saw many of the things we have to offer (most of which, as locals, we take for granted and not realize just how important these places are.) Larry & Pete drove over the Ben Franklin Bridge, made stops by Citizen's Bank Park (home of the Phillies), visited Pat's and Geno's and grabbed some cheese steaks wit whiz, hit both Independence Hall and City Hall, Betsy Ross' House, the Liberty Bell, the Art Museum (now home of the Rocky statue), and Elfreth's Alley (our nation's oldest residential street) and many other landmarks along the way.

This is a great book for many reasons, it's written in such a way to make children interested in seeing things they might not normally be interested in visiting. And when Larry managed to hit an important place along the way the book had a nice little summary explaining the significance to the place Larry was visiting and there's where this book really did a great job in my opinion, they made learning fun. Once our daughter was done reading she had a million questions about the city and things that Larry and Pete had seen and since we live within driving (some places walking) distance to most of these places we can physically take her there so she can go on her own Larry like adventure. Nothing beats a good book that stirs the reader into wanting to learn more and Larry wants us to learn more.
