A tour of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, come on and follow along! #Disney #Travel

A few weeks ago we were able to get away for a few days to celebrate our tenth anniversary and we decided to celebrate our milestone by going back to where we had our honeymoon Disney World....I know big surprise! We had an awesome time down there (even though it was July crowded) but the day that stands out the most to me was our day at the Studios. It's the park my husband loves the most, it's where he spends countless hours every May waiting in line to get into Star Wars Weekend and countless hours in the park doing all sorts of geeky Disney Star Warsy goodness.

He couldn't wait to get there and I'm right with him. Even though I'm not a big thrill ride gal and the Studios has two kind of major thrill rides I still enjoy the Studios, maybe not as much as my husband but the quaintness and smaller feel is something I really like and their shops are something I really love wandering through and just getting wrapped up in their awesome themes.
The Studios was crowded and my husband mentioned that it felt more crowded than the opening weekend for Star Wars weekend the biggest difference between the crowds was the weather! This past May it was in the 90s and last week it was in the 70s and there was ZERO humidity. We couldn't have asked for better park touring weather.
We got into the Studios and made our way over to where everyone else was headed Toy Story Midway Mania. No matter how many times we ride the “ride” it never gets old and something new always happens, that's the brilliance of this ride, it's not really a ride but more of an interactive game and workout because when you're done your arms are sore and I mean sore. You get off the ride tired. Thankfully we made it there before the wait got too long and were able to jump in the stand by line and only had a nominal wait.

We were going to get fast passes but within minutes they were gone, now that Fast Pass Plus has been implemented the actual paper passes has been cut so for the bigger more popular attractions they run out quickly. No worries though I love the queue of Toy Story and since we were there early enough the lines moved quickly....two cats later (if you've been on the ride you get that reference...I hope!) we were on our way over to Star Tours.

Star Tours is easily one of my husband’s favorite rides and again we jumped into the stand by line and within minutes we were boarding our flight. We wound up visiting Hoth and Naboo which in my opinion are the best two places to go because the action makes the flight more fun. I went outside and waited while my husband wandered around Tatooine Traders to look at what I don't know...he has most of it in his cave already....maybe he was just a little home sick? From Star Tours we wandered over to Muppet Vision and jumped in line and again had little to no wait.

Even though it was crowded we managed to maneuver around the crowds and get into lines at the right time. Park veterans for the win! Muppets while showing its age a little is still a must do for me, I love Beaker and the Swedish Chef (my favorite muppet and second favorite meatball) and my husband loves to chime in with Statler and Waldorf and I'm convinced he's the child of one of them....I'm telling you he came from grumpy, sarcastic Muppet stock!

From Muppet Vision we went to lunch and we went to a place we haven't eaten at since our second trip to the World in 2001 Rosie's All American Cafe. We typically eat in Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time when at the Studios but decided to grab something quick and since it's been more than a decade since we ate there we decided Rosie's was where we'd eat. The burgers were better than they were a decade ago so maybe Rosie's might make it back into our rotation.
From Rosie's we browsed the shops on Sunset Boulevard which are some of my favorite shops in all of WDW. After looking at the caramel and candy apples at Villains in Vogue I decided I wanted a milkshake and we made our way over to 50's Prime Time Cafe to the Tune In Lounge so I could get a peanut butter and jelly milkshake and I have to tell you if you've never had the pleasure of having pb&j milkshake you've got to get one. They are heavenly!
The rest of our day was just wandering around doing some shopping and hunting for characters we finally got to meet Wreck it Ralph and Vanellope and they were great. Ralph was HUGE and when he shook my husband’s hand his hand engulfed my husband’s arm! And I thought it was sweet that Vanellope gave me a big hug and she must be a Star Wars fan because she pointed at the tattoo's on my husband’s arms one by one and clapped....that made his day.
We had a great day at the Studios even though the crowds were big we managed to make our way through them and had little to no wait on everything we wanted to see and do. If you play your cards right and have a good touring plan no matter how crowded the parks are you will get to see and do everything you want. We love WDW and the Studios and as my husband has been telling me for weeks now...only 6 months until May and Star Wars Weekends 2014! We can't wait to go back.

If you are looking to visit, you can purcahse your tickets on the Disney world website.

My family loves all things Disney. We are getting ready to go on a Disney Cruise for Thanksgiving and cannot wait. It will be the third one we have been on and they are the best vacations we have ever had.

I have not yet been to Disney World in Florida. I really want to go. I grew up in California and as a child was able to go to Disneyland, Universal Studies, etc. many times and I have such fond memories of it. I hope to be able to afford to take my kids to Disney World sometime this year. It look like so much fun. Very Expensive but I'm sure worth it. Memories like that last forever for children. I know mine did!
