Disney World Halloween Party!

We did the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and that didn't go as well as the Sugar Ray concert. It rained and rained and then it rained some more....it was BIBLICAL! This wasn't your typical Florida storm, it lasted from 6 pm to after 11 pm and forced Disney to cancel most things, no parades and the fireworks were abbreviated.
We took refuge in Cosmic Ray's along with what seemed like everyone else that was in the park! We had trouble finding a seat but were offered to share a seat with 2 really nice ladies from Indiana, we spent the next hour plus chatting with them and waiting for the rain to subside, it didn't so we covered our camera bag and were off to get our soggy candy. We had fun trick or treating and riding the rides but the rain was a real bummer. We finally got to ride the Haunted Mansion and the updates they did to the que were fantastic and the hitchhiking ghost's at the end of the ride....if you haven't seen it yet I'm not going to spoil it for you but it's very cool and makes for a did you see that moment.

The highlight of the party was getting out pictures taken with the Villain's since things were cancelled Disney decided to have the Villain's meet with people in the old Tomorrow Land Noodle Station. We had our pictures taken with The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, Jafar, Captain Hook, Cruella De Vil and the Queen of Hearts. We love getting pictures with rarer and hard to find characters and in our opinion we didn't mind the trade off, no parade but a chance to meet rare characters is a good trade for us.

But we've been to MNSSHP's before and have seen the parade and fireworks but it stinks is that was your first and only time going to the party having all those major things cancelled or shortened stinks. Disney can't control the weather.....give them time but as of now it's still in the hands of Mother Nature.

I went in October a few years ago and loved it. It was during the food fest at Epcot and that was fun. It was a lot less crowded than during the summer months too.
