Mike & Ike Candy Just In Time For Valentine's Day!

 Are you a fan of Mike and Ike? Well I have some great news for you all, they now have some great Valentine’s Day themed treats!  A fun passion mix, and the classic favorite Hot Tamales!

I was very fortunate to be able to try out a selection of the great new Mike and Ike's that have the classic flavors you love with great packing for Valentines day! MIKE AND IKE® Passion Mix and the HOT TAMALES® Cinnamon with special “Hottie” packaging
  I just love Mike and Ike it is a classic candy that is delicious. The new passion mix, is great to add to your candy dishes for the holidays. The Valentine colors red , purple and pink will look great in your candy dish. The flavors of the passion mix are Cherry, raspberry, grape and punch.



The Punch is my favorite, it reminds me of the fruit punch drinks I would drink as a child.  I think the valentine boxes are so cute, with a little to and from on the box, it is ready for gift giving a with a cute valentines look, this will be a great little treat for that special valentine.  
There are some great Valentine recipes for Mike and Ike’s that I would love to make, including…
BeJeweled MIKE AND IKE® Cookies
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 10 min
Ready Time: 25 min
Servings: 36

INGREDIENTS:
·         1 ½ Boxes of MIKE AND IKE® Passion Mix
·         2/3 Cup margarine – cold
·         1 Cup Sugar
·         1 Egg
·         1 teaspoon vanilla
·         2 Cups flour
·         1 teaspoon Baking Soda

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In a mixer bowl, put 2/3 C Margarine, 1 C Sugar, 1 Egg and 1 teaspoon Vanilla.
3. Mix until well creamed. 
4. Add in 2 C flour and 1 teaspoon Baking Soda.
5. Add in chopped up MIKE AND IKE® Passion Mix, mix into a dough (will be slightly sticky).
6. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place on cookie sheets lined with baking paper.
7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are golden. Centers will be slightly soft.
8. Let cool.

Doesn’t that sound like an amazing cookie? I would love to make this, I never thought to put chewy candy in a cookie, but they look so yummy! So if you are looking for a treat that the big an little kids will just love make sure to pick up a couple of the special Mike and Ike and Hot Tamales, for the big kids like my husband.
