Check out Tax Season Sweepstakes! How do you spend your tax refund?

Tax season is upon us, for me it's a time I'm not to keen of! I'm always worried about doing our taxes and making sure they're correct and it stresses me out until we receive our return and I know things are fine.

This year was no different than past years, we sat at the computer did our taxes I fretted over everything and my husband just sits there without a care in the world...we're total opposites in that respect. Thankfully a few weeks back we received our return and decided that we'd put a nice chunk of it towards our August trip to Disney World. This year we'll be heading down in May and August, May was paid for already but August still had a balance and thanks to our return it's now paid for.
I'm looking forward to our August trip this year, it will be the first time since 2010 that we have a week to spend in WDW. That last statement is a little misleading...we've gone to WDW multiple times since 2010 but for 4 days here and there multiple times.
This will be the first week straight trip in four years. We'll be staying at the Contemporary we had planned on staying at the Polynesian but due to massive construction and the fact the volcano pool will not be open we decided to stay somewhere different. We've stayed at the Contemporary two times prior once on our honeymoon and then again in 2010 for my birthday. We love the quick access to the Magic Kingdom, when the crowd is pushing it's way to the buses we'll be taking the short walk back to our hotel. It'll be nice to be able to avoid taking crowded buses to and from the Magic Kingdom!

Every time I worried about taxes and all the work and worry they cause I would just stop and try to think about vacation and all the memories we'll be making. It's nice to be in a position to be able to use our return for something fun and not have to do something “adult” with it. If you're in a position to use your return for something fun do it!

We treat our returns as found money, normally I'm not a free spending person (I leave that up to my husband) but when it comes to using our tax return for something fun I generally don't hesitate. I know it's technically not found money and it's ours to begin with but it's still fun to get a nice fat check every February or March and know we can have fun with it.

If your fun is buying things on line head over to and see all of the Tax Season Deals they have. Might as well try and save some of that found money to use for some more things you may or may not really need....sometimes it's just fun to buy something you want and might not technically need.
