First day at the Disney Media Moms Conference, meeting Mickey a dance party and more! #Disneysmmc

I was invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration conference. I paid a conference fee to attend. I received a discounted rate for my stay. All opinions are my own. I have not been compensated or asked to post about Disney .

When I started this (what seems likes a lifetime ago) that one day I would be a Disney Social Media Mom, I'd say you were crazy! But sure enough some five plus years after starting this, I sat on a plane with my family bound for MCO and several days of fun we're ahead of us because I now am headed for the Disney Social Media Mom Conference! It's a dream come true for me, as a family who frequents both WDW and Disneyland we're kind of consumed with Disney as a whole and to be able to get to go to Lake Buena Vista and meet other bloggers (both mommy's and daddy's) and mingle with them and their families and just be able to soak in all these once in a lifetime things was really spectacular.
We left Philadelphia Wednesday so we could be all chipper for Thursday the start of the conference. I wanted to make sure we had as much time possible, I didn't want to miss out on anything. We spent the early part of Thursday in the Magic Kingdom having a ton of fun as always, but I spent the bulk of my time checking my phone and seeing all the posts from everyone saying they're here and can't wait to meet everyone. I couldn't wait to get back to the Yacht Club and check in and mingle.

The registration was sponsored by Taylor Morrison, they built the Dream Home that was housed in Innoventions in Disneyland. The registration session was really nice, we got to mingle with each other and we were able to chat with the representatives from Taylor Morrison and see what they could offer people in the market for new homes. My husband left jealous, he constantly complains about our century old home and how he wants more and seeing what Taylor Morrison has to offer just didn't make him love our home anymore!
But to ease his pain he discovered something none of us had even known existed...rock candy syrup! As part of the spread of drinks was unsweetened iced tea, my husband consumes iced tea like a fish so he went for a glass and looking for sugar he discovered rock candy syrup. Nectar of the god's! He declared and we all had to try it and I have to admit it's really good.
But the best part about the registration was.... we got to meet Mickey! Yes the big cheese was dressed in his finest ready to welcome us! From the registration we headed back to our room to shower and change because we had to catch buses to head on over to Epcot for our welcome reception. The attendee's took an earlier bus over and our families arrived about an hour later. We were able to do some more mingling and catching up and just enjoying the spread. My daughter informed me that on the bus ride to Epcot the bus driver was asking Disney trivia questions and that my husband answered every single one. It came to the point that the bus driver (jokingly) told him he couldn't play anymore!
I don't know how many hours of podcasts he listens to but he spends most of his work week listening to Disney inspired podcasts so his knowledge is pretty vast. Now we've been to Epcot more times than I can count and we thought we had seen it all, we haven't! The Epcot World Showplace (located between and behind the Canadian and UK pavilions) is a place we never thought we'd ever get to see. I'm happy to say we not only got to see it but we had a fantastic time in there.
The “Creativity and You” welcome family dinner was sponsored by Disney Citizenship  and what a spread it was. Food was literally everywhere! We all kept going back to more and more. We were able to finally try the cheeseburger spring rolls and they were divine.
They had little tiny pickles chopped up in them! I could go for a plate of them right now.... My daughter was hooked on the liquid nitrogen popcorn. Popcorn and liquid nitrogen together? It's wickedly cold and wonderfully awesome! She ate I don't know how many cones of popcorn, I'm not joking, it was probably close to a dozen.
After we were done pigging out we headed to the back of the room to meet Baymax and Hiro from Big Hero 6, we love meeting new characters and to be able to have access to new and popular characters with practically no wait was awesome.
Sorcerer Mickey and Rapunzel were also there to meet with the families and it was really nice to be able to walk up to them and have time to interact with the characters and have fun because the lines weren't long and they made everyone feel special. It was really a unique experience.
After the reception we headed on over to the IllumiNations dessert party sponsored by Babble. No. More. Food! Having stuffed ourselves silly we got to stuff ourselves some more! The dessert offerings were plentiful and delicious.
Our vantage point for IllumiNations was spectacular, we really felt like VIP's. Having seen IllumiNations many times and seeing it from several spots along with World Showcase, seeing it from where we were positioned front and center with the World Showcase Lagoon and that vantage point was wonderful.
After IllumiNations there was return transportation back to the hotels but we opted to walk back to try and walk off some of the calories we had packed on from dinner and dessert! With Thursday over we were off to sleep to see what Friday and my conference had in store for us.

How fun! I love that you can bring along the kids to. That's THE definition of a true mommy blogger conference, in my opinion.
