Come on a Miles adventure! A trip to Google, meeting the creator & a new Halloween-themed Miles from Tomorrowland #MilesEvent

Are you up for an adventure? Well I know I am always up for trying something new, or going on a quest, or any kind of adventure like Miles From Tomorrowland!  I recently had the chance to check out Google Headquarters in San Francisco, and what is more scientific and out of this world than Google Headquarters??

24 other amazing bloggers and myself were able to take a look at this amazing office building that was filled with fun. A much cooler office than my office that is for sure. From a great sitting area, to a fun pool table, to heated toilet seats (yes, you read that right!) I even heard they have a slide! A slide!? Unfortunately, we did not get to go down the slide, but that would have been cool, right?  We did get to do something at Google that was even cooler than sliding down that twisty slide, we were able to talk and have dinner with a great Miles from Tomorrowland panel! They were there to get our kids excited about science and check out a new episode of Miles from Tomorrowland!

The panel included Sascha Paladino, he is the man behind the character, the creator and Prouder of Miles from Tomorrowland, Diane Ikemiyashiro the Director of Original Programming at Disney Junior, a Google Engineer Angela Navarro,  Dr. Yvonne Cagle, NASA Astronaut & Consultant on Miles from Tomorrowland and  Isis Anchalee, Software Engineer behind the #Ilooklikeanengineer social media movement.

Do your kids love Miles from Tomorrowland?  Seeing the new episode made me excited for my little nephew who is the biggest Miles fan, I could not wait to tell him about it! I have to admit the new episode was great, I enjoyed it and loved the messages... If you don't succeed, try again... and girls can do anything. I could go on and on about this episode, it had so many wonderful messages. We were able to meet the creator of Miles from Tomorrowland, Sascha Paladino. Sascha, was like a father, happy to show off his creation and curious to see if you love it as much as he does.

He genuinely wanted to know your thoughts and feelings about the show, he was such a sweet guy. Not everyone can say they met an astronaut! I was very fortunate to meet the inspiring Dr. Yvonne Cagle, who is a NASA Astronaut & consultant on Miles from Tomorrowland. Dr Cagle spoke about the importance of role models for children,  “There were no role models for me”. Even though there were no role models for Dr. Cagle she rose above and succeeded and has become a role model herself for new generations.
Dr. Yvonne Cagle spoke about life and how she saw it, “There are no setbacks only sailing.” This is such a powerful quote. Just think about it, as life goes along things may happen but just keep sailing along. Isis Anchalee, a software engineer was the person behind the #iamanengineer campaign, to show the real face of an engineer.  This campaign is to show that engineers are real people, and they do not necessarily have a stereotypical look, and that encouragement for girls is so very important. Each of these panelists were inspiring and really cared about getting kids into the world of science. I will have more information about our discussion and the importance is females in science, “STEM” soon so be on the lookout for that post.
