Goetze Caramel Cream bread pudding #Recipe

It's funny when I know something that will trigger a genuine smile from my husband, this happened when I showed him the bags of Goetze Caramel Cream candies. His eye's got big and he was excited. He loves caramel but it just wasn't the candy that got him excited, it was the memories that came flooding back to him. He was brought back to his childhood and going to visit his grandmother and the one candy she always had in the candy dish was Goetze caramel creams.
And instantly he opened one up, promptly poked the cream out and ate each individually....I looked at him puzzled, he explained that's the way he's always eaten them and old habits die hard!

He had the chance to eat them in a way he never had thought about before but it would combine Goetze caramel creams and bread pudding. I thought that would be a great mash up and should be a very tasty combination and it was! I added the caramel late into the baking process so that the caramel's wouldn't burn, but what I did do prior was something I took from my husband. I poked out the cream centers and added them to the bread pudding so the cream could bake into the pudding. I must say this bread pudding was really good, or as my husband put it the best bread pudding he's ever eaten.
oetze Caramel Cream Bread Pudding
8-10 Slices of Bread
12 Carmel Creams
White cream of an additional 5 caramels
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 eggs
2 cups of milk

Cut each Carmel Cream into 4 small pieces, put aside. Mix wet ingredients in a bowl, then when well mixed add cinnamon and sugar, mix well. Rip up bread and put in an oven safe dish. Coat bread with liquid mixture. Mix in cream whites. Preheat oven to 350 degrees then bake for 1 hour. When baking is finished and bread is still warm insert Carmel Creams. Do not add the Carmel Creams until baking is finished, they may burn.

Now I know what you're thinking....he said that because he has to! No. He's a bread pudding fiend, it's his favorite dessert and he's had more types of bread pudding than I can count! He said it was the caramel that did it. The Goetze caramel creams added just enough sweetness and turned normal bread pudding into an ooey gooey delight. It was made on a Sunday it met its ultimate demise Monday. That pudding never had a chance. If you are looking for a bread pudding that is simple to make and will be quite the crowd pleaser, be sure to try out this recipe, you will be glad you did.

I have never tried caramel cream bread putting before but it does look good.I would love to make this for my family but I think I'll end up eating it by myself, not because they won't like it but because I'm not going to want to share after the first bite.I will definitely make this once I have all the ingredients.
