Looking for a great getaway? Look no further than The Mount Airy Lodge in the Poconos!

***This visit was sponsored by the Mount Airy Lodge, I received complementary items and admission for the subject matter contained in this post, all opinions are 100% my own***

When I think of the Poconos, I think of the Poconos of my childhood. Awful hotels that haven’t been updated since Eisenhower was in office, awful (but plentiful) food, and almost no amenities. I lived this as a child being bored out of my skull being trapped in a room that had awful beds, terrible bathrooms and ZERO televisions! This past weekend my husband and I had the chance to head up to the Poconos and experience what the Mount Airy Casino Resort had to offer….let me tell you this isn’t the Poconos of my childhood!
What a beautiful hotel. The outside of the hotel was simply stunning, it was well lit, well maintained and beautiful. From the outside this looked like a AAA 4 Diamond Award winner (because it is!) We arrived and were greeted by the lovely high ceiling lobby that has a warm modern cabin feel. Check-in was a breeze, finding our room was a breeze…..about our room….wow. We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels some good, some bad, and some great. The Mt. Airy Resort would definitely fall into the great category.

When we walked into our room my husband took a big sniff, I asked are you feeling ok? He said do you smell that? I was thinking what is he smelling?? It smells new, it smells clean, it smells like they care. The rooms had been newly renovated and the smell of that newness still hung in the room.

As I always do I head right into the bathroom to check it out and this bathroom was one the larger one’s we’ve ever had in a room, the toilet was in a room by itself and had its own separate door, the main bathroom had a huge shower that 4 people could fit in at once and a nice large sink where I was able to spread out my toiletries. The room also included some fancy toiletries, I could not wait to try out.
Back into the room our bed was a king size bed that was made with nice, bright white linens, a comfortable chair was in the corner facing the bed (my husband claimed this chair as his for the weekend) and there was a comfy office chair at the workspace area so if you needed to do work on your computer you had a good chair to sit in while you worked.
A Keurig was there for coffee lovers, a must in the morning for me. And something that wasn’t in the last Poconos resort room I was in…..a TV! It’s nice to be able to come back to the room and just veg out in-front of a TV to unwind and get comfy and it also helps me fall asleep. Our view was nice, we had a view of the golf course across the road from us and when it decided to snow on Saturday those trees looked even more beautiful when they became snow covered.
We headed off to check out the pool area, and what a pool it was! The large pool area was enclosed for the colder months, and when the warmer weather comes in you are able to swim from the inside pool to the outside pool! I know my daughter would just love that. I would love just relaxing by the pool and picking up a drink from the pool bar and relaxing.

The Mt. Airy Resort has so many things to offer you while staying there, from a world class casino, top flight entertainment, a wonderful spa, a salon, great restaurants (you’ll hear about these restaurants and the entertainment options in another post,) an 18 hole golf course, and so much more. If you’re looking for a space to hold your wedding the Mt. Airy Resort can do that and more, it’s like a one stop wedding shop! From the ceremony, to the reception, and with the hotel a place all your guests can stay at to make things even easier.

I can’t say enough good things about the Mt. Airy Resort, we really did have a wonderful battery recharging weekend that we were both looking forward to and that we both really enjoyed. The nice thing is that it’s only 2 hours away from home so if we want to do it again it’s only a short car ride away! If you’re looking for something different, something new, something fun, take a trip up to the Poconos and visit the beautiful Mt. Airy Resort 1,056 acres of fun and so much more! Be sure to stay tuned for some fun things to do at the Mount Airy Lodge from great entertainment to delicious eats, I will have so much more to share with you!
