Come on and join along with some Star Wars Episode VII movie fun with Hasbro!

***As a Hasbro Blogger I received these toys for review. All opinions are 100% my own***

We're a Star Wars house, don't have much of a choice really. I knew what I was getting into when I first started dating my husband that he was a Star Wars guy, he never hid it and has never hid it. But his love of the movie franchise grew on me too, and was passed down to our daughter... From the our personalized star wars license plate, to our basement full of collectibles we are a Star Wars family plain and simple. We've become a Star Wars family, my daughter “is being raised the right way” according to my husband...ha ha.. but that's my issue. This is all leading to seeing a huge black box that simply said Star Wars on it sitting in between our doors. That big box was full of cool things and we were able to have a screening of the Force Awakens in our house and that made my Star Wars family extremely happy.

This past December we took a trip to Disney World and it coincided with the release of the Force Awakens, we made a special trip to Disney Springs to see the movie while on vacation because I knew how much it meant to my husband and daughter to see it. This franchise is a part of him and now a part of us and I'm glad we were all able to see it as a family. We waited in the theater for a couple of hours prior to the start just to get good seats and were about the 50th persons in line at that point. I was amazed to see how quickly that theater filled up and I was happy we had seats together and in a terrific spot, getting there early paid off, but nothing beats being home and sitting on my couch and not worrying about where we're going to sit!
We (with the help of that big box) had an impromptu screening party. This box not only contained the movie but a whole host of other goodies. There was a whole host of cool toys from Hasbro, thanks to Hasbro we had a fun time playing with Takodana Encounter. The Takodana Encounter playset features the 3.75” versions of Rey, Maz Kanata, Finn, and BB-8. That's just the tip of the iceberg! Nerf guns...Nerf guns and people equal a fine time and we had a fun time shooting at each other and setting up targets. We had a version of Nerf Hans Solo blaster and Star Wars Nerf Episode VII First Order Stormtrooper Deluxe Blaster. Darts were flying all over the house! Some of the most fun was had with the R2D2 Bop It game, you just do what the game tells you to do, bop it, twist it, or pull it.
We were passing R2 back and forth trying to set the house record, it stands at 50 in a row by my husband but I have a feeling my daughter will quickly eclipse that record. We also received Kylo Ren's lightsaber by Bladebuilders, and my husband and daughter were able to have a duel to end all duels in the middle of our living room.
With all the toys and party supplies we received we were certainly in the Star Wars mood. Once we were done playing with the toys we were able to focus in on the movie. Not before we had some dress up time! With some fun Hasbro Darth Vader & Stormtrooper masks!
The Force Awakens was just as good the second time as it was the first. It was a wonderful movie that was reminiscent of A New Hope, it felt similar, but yet different. It was a great way to introduce us to the next generation of what I'm sure will become Star Wars regulars and favorites. Aside from the movie itself the DVD has a whole host of extras and they're just as fun to watch as the movie itself.
Deleted scenes, secrets behind the movie, the building of BB-8, and how John Williams conducted the score is just a small sample of what you'll get along with the movie. We had so much fun watching the movie and discussing the small things and going back and re-watching scenes because someone saw something they didn't see before, I've never seen a movie dissected like this but when my husband is in his element....it's hard to stop him! We all gave the movie and the super fun toys two thumbs up! Thanks to Hasbro for making what would have been another unassuming Friday into a night we won't soon forget!
