Day one of the DSMMC a day of fun and exclusive Animal Kingdom sneak peeks! #DisneySMMC

I was invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration conference. I paid a conference fee to attend. I received a discounted rate for my stay. All opinions are my own. I have not been compensated or asked to post about Disney .

Disney is the place where dreams come true right? I know you had to have heard this or seen a commercial about this.. sure we all have. But did you know this is really true? Dreams come in all shapes and sizes and with Disney the happiness that comes with each visit, shows you that dreams really do come true. I recently had the opportunity to visit Disney World with my family and attend the Disney Media Moms Conference. This is a conference like no other, and I was honored to be invited and excited to be able to learn more about Disney and spend some quality time with my family.
We had been counting down the months, weeks and days one by one for this amazing event, and when the day came we could not hold our excitement in. We arrived and it really was true we were in Disney World! We did not give ourselves time to settle in we were off and ready for some Disney fun. Checking out the conference halls and seeing the Media Moms banners, got me excited for all that was to come. First up we were treated with a visit by the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse!
It brought a tear to my eye, when my daughter ran up and wanted to take a picture with Mickey. My daughter is growing up so quickly and the little things like this, really remind me of my little girl and it makes me smile. After meeting Mickey we were able to get my credentials, and I have to tell you this was awesome.

Right after check in we were able to check out some of the amazing luggage from American Tourister, the Disney themed luggage is cool to say the least. If you are a Disney Mickey and Minnie fan or a Marvel fan or Star Wars fan they have the bag for you. My husband was checking out the Captain America bag, as well as the Iron man bag, I guess he can't choose sides, seems like he would like them both.

What an amazing beginning of the day. Up next was a special event at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Are you a fan of Animal Kingdom? For me Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite parks, I love the large spread out areas and the theming. The only thing I would like is for the park to be open later... Well another dream will come true. We were given a sneak peak of some of the new additions coming soon to the Animal Kingdom.

We were treated with a look at some of the fun new night time additions including the Tree of Life, in a way I have never seen it before. Starting at sundown, The Tree of Life, awakens as if it was alive with amazing images being splashed across and morphing from one color to another.  You will watch in wonder as the images "move" along the tree, watch a school of clownfish swimming and a tiger stretching right on the tree right before your eyes, the illuminated nighttime Tree of Life is something to behold.

The Animal Kingdom that night was filled with music, performers and dancers. We had amazing food from the Animal Kingdom restaurants, including butter chicken, naan and much much more!
After we enjoyed some amazing food we explored the park a bit and met some new friends including Judy Hopps, and Nick Wilde, these special friends are not meeting in the park yet, but hopefully they will be soon they were adorable.

The night was filled with a carnival atmosphere, the stilt walkers and the street dancers really put on an amazing show that the kids and adults loved.  The performers were  super friendly and great with the kids.

One particularly amazing performance was a flipping acrobatic act, all I have to say is wow, these guys were spectacular. I could not keep my eyes off of them, and when they "stacked" themselves it was an amazing show.

After all of the fun entertainment, and great food what was up next for us? Something my husband just about flipped for (something I am glad it did not actually do, unlike those talented performers he would have broke something!) EXPEDITION EVEREST IN THE DARK! We were able to take a ride on Expedition Everest at nighttime.

For those who might not know, this is not a common event. The Animal Kingdom closes earlier than other parks, and experiencing a ride like this in the late evening hours just does not happen. My husband could not run over to get in line fast enough, he was more than ready to have a blast riding this ride, and as soon as he got off he was ready to get on this again. I have never experienced Expedition Everest before, I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to thrill rides, but I was going to try it. I was going to ride Expedition Everest?? Yes. Well it was thrilling and a great ride. This amazing chance will happen soon for you too. With the upcoming extended evenings and entertainment, including the Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, and Expedition Everest will be available for night rides as well.
Overall we loved being in The Animal Kingdom at night, the entertainment was great and the feel of the park at night just gave off a great vibe. We will surely be back, to enjoy all of the amazing new nighttime events, including the new Rivers of Light Show. This new show features lantern barges, and 15 foot illuminated parchment animals, I am sure this will be something that will be breathtaking, can't wait to see it soon. The nighttime fun, and shows at The Animal Kingdom start this summer.
