A family favorite, White Chip Cinnamon Sugar Cookies made with Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs #Recipe #Giveaway

It is that time again, time to break out the cookbooks and start to bake your families favorite treats for the holiday season. Do you have all you need to make these favorite treats? Besides stocking up on sugar, flour and other assorted spices we need to be sure to have the one thing that pretty much all sweet recipes need… Eggs! An egg is an egg is an egg, right? While they all look the same, there is a wide variety in how the hens who produce them are treated, and how the land on which they’re raised is farmed.
This holiday season, when eggs are used in everything from souffles to cookies to a straight-up scramble, we’re asking you to help us remind readers why choosing the right egg is so important - and why organic matters. Whenever I can I like to purchase organic items for my family. I like knowing these items are not full of pesticides and other unnatural things that I would rather not have my family eating.

While shopping for your eggs, be sure to check out Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs. Their free range hens lay organic eggs in Large, Extra-Large and Jumbo sizes. When they’re spring chickens, still new to egg-laying, they also will lay some Medium sized eggs. The eggs are USDA Certified Organic, have no pesticides, no added hormones, no antibiotics. These are eggs you can feel good about using in your recipes and serving to your family. Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs are sold in supermarkets and other food stores, in dozens, half dozen, liquid egg whites and now new Hard Boiled, Peeled and Ready to Eat packs.

I would like to share with you all one of my families most favorite recipes to make during the holidays.  Our family favorite, White Chip Cinnamon Sugar Cookies. These are the best of all worlds, it is a sugar cookie crossed with a butter cookie, crossed with a white chip cookie, crossed with a snickerdoodle cookie… Wow that was a mouthful! But this cookie really has it all. Sweet soft and buttery this has been a holiday staple for years. I hope you are able to make it and your family loves it as much as mine does.

White Chip Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of White Chips
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1 stick of butter, softened
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1 cup of granulated sugar
2 Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
2 teaspoons of baking powder
2 cups of all-purpose flour

Toppings:
3 tsp of sugar
1/2 tsp of cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix cinnamon and sugar toppings in a separate bowl. Mix together the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.  Roll cookies and coat in topping then line on parchment paper on baking sheets. I press down the cookies a bit to have them bake more evenly. Bake for 10 minutes.

I'll always come back on occasion for some scrambled eggs with a heaping of apple sauce (and toast), which my best friends mother introduced me to back around 1963.
