Doing a cookie swap and need inspiration? Check out the #Krusteaz Cookie Helper! Plus Cherry Vanilla Sugar Cookies #Recipe #Giveaway

The holiday season is all about cozy sweaters, friends and family, and of course, cookies. Krusteaz, makers of premium baking mixes, has an entire line of cookie mixes that are perfect for holiday parties. One of my most favorite thing about cookies is how easy they are to make and how fun they are to make. For the holidays we love to participate in cookie swaps.

It is just what it seems like, it is the opportunity to swap your home-baked cookies with family and friends. It is a great way to share your favorite recipes, and a great way to get the chance to try new cookies and perhaps find a cookie you just love and have never tried before. Doesn’t this seem like fun? This is a great idea for a holiday party, a fun way to sweeten up the dessert table, will all kinds of yummy cookies!

But what to make? Hmm? There are so many cookie recipes out there, what cookie should we make? It can be the hardest part of participating in a cookie swap, figuring out which recipe to make. Krusteaz makers of great cookie mixes has a brand new fun quiz called the Cookie Helper that will help you find the perfect recipe. Visit the Krusteaz website and take the Cookie Helper quiz for some inspiration.

The quiz is fun and gives you some great recipe ideas, if you are in need of some ideas for some fun cookie recipes, be sure to check out this cool quiz. I had a fun family favorite recipe that I have used over the years that I wanted to share with you all, it is super easy and a real crowd pleaser. I just had to make it, and share this delicious recipe with you all!

Cherry Vanilla Sugar Cookies

Box of Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix
Stick of butter
One egg
1/2 cup chopped Cherries
coarse sugar (to roll cookies in before baking)

Simply follow the directions on the box and add mix well, then incorporate the cherries (do not mix too much or to hard, or you make come out with pink cookies...) roll dough into balls and roll in coarse sugar mixture and place on a cookie sheet.

Set oven for 350 degrees and bake cookies for 11-15 minutes

These cookies are always the hit of the party, they are sweet and chewy and crunchy all you ever want in a great cookie. Visit http://www.krusteaz.com/ and check out all of the awesome recipes on the site, and take the Cookie Helper quiz here http://www.krusteaz.com/cookie-swap and find what recipe you come up with after the quiz and try it out. I would love to hear about how your cookies came out, are you going to keep them or use them for a cookie swap?

I'm going to have to try your Cherry Vanilla sugar cookies. They don't have to be refrigerated after cooking, right? With those types of cherries it is like fruit cake, you can leave them out in their storage containers (cookie jar, fruit cake can)? Lauralee Hensley

I have never had them last more than a day... but if you would like to make these to be shelf stable for a few days you can use candied cherries too.

I am most interested in the triple chocolate chunk variety. They have a molten deep dish cookie that we buy regularly that is great.
