4 things I would get rid of in WDW

4 things I would get rid of in WDW:

I got to thinking about the parks the other day and I brought the question up to my wife, if you could eliminate one thing from each park what would you eliminate? Here is what would get the axe if my name was Bob Iger….

At the Magic Kingdom:
Stitch’s Great Escape: Blah! This show is awful. It doesn’t really fit into the whole Tomorrowland scheme; neither does Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor but the Buddy Boyle dancer always makes me laugh. Stitch can be a cute character, when he’s not being force fed down our throats! I’m not sure what to think about Stitch is his mischievous or flat out bad? I’m a little confused…. As for the show it’s not fun, funny or worthwhile. It bores me and generally scares the life out of little kids; it’s taking up prime space it needs to go. Bring back Timekeeper and put it there.
Others that received consideration:
Tomorrowland Transit Speedway
Country Bears Jamboree

At Epcot:

Mission Space: Do I really need to say much about this ride? Want to know if you have a major heart condition jump on, if you don’t get off under your own power you probably have a heart issue! This ride scrambled our brains the one and only time we rode on our Honeymoon, that was almost 8 years ago and we’ve never been back. It’s a glorified Gravitron with Gary Sinise no matter how much Lieutenant Dan you throw at me it won’t make this ride any good. Bring back Horizons, it’ll make the people happy.
Others that received consideration:
Captain E.O.
Ellen’s Energy Adventure
Journey Into Imagination (Bring back the old ride!!!)

At The Studios:

This was tough. The Studios is my personal favorite park, I know a lot of people treat it as a half day park not me. I just love the feel of the Studios, I love the atmosphere and the background music, it’s my happy place. But still it needs help. There is a few things that need to go but I can only choose one and I would choose Sounds Dangerous. It’s old, Drew Carey is fat, and the shows referenced in the show aren’t on TV anymore.  It’s taking up PRIME real estate in a park that doesn’t have much room to grow, the Studios is small and when you have duds taking up prime spots you need to do something about it. What I’d do is simple and is something they can use. I’d put another restaurant there, a sit down restaurant in the style of the Mos Eisley cantina in Star Wars, the boys need a place to go for a meal. We have enough Princess meals to choke a horse but what about us guys? This restaurant would be popular, cool and easy to do. Just make that area Lucasland and be done with it!
Others that received consideration:
Lights Motor Action
Backlot Tour

At Animal Kingdom:

This is our not even half day park, we get there I ride Everest then we do ITTBAB and we jam. It’s hot even when it’s cold, everything is up hill and everything is spaced so far apart that you’re tired by the time you get to where you’re going. But what one thing would I get rid of? Primeval Whirl heck I’d get rid of that whole section. Seems like a cheesy carnival that just isn’t Disney, it seemed like the Imagineers just rushed through Dinoland all we need it toothless Carney’s trying to get us to play rigged games. What would I put there? Anything would be an improvement. But what Animal Kingdom really needs is another headline attraction. Not sure what they could put there but something has to be done, Everest was the last major attraction put into AK and that was 6 years ago. Maybe they should concentrate on getting the Yeti out of disco mode and back into a mode first.
Others that received consideration:

Triceratop Spin

Jul-Ree Box Etsy shop - Review (And a Giveaway)

Profile (from the website)

My mom and I are addicted to making jewelry! We can't stop! Mom's the brain behind naming our stuff - including our shop name... She gets ideas faster than lightening - sometimes it's hard to keep up with her! Amazing woman. And it doesn't stop there - her creativity speaks for itself through her pieces (i.e., check out her statement necklaces and crocheted wire bracelets). I started making jewelry about 4 years ago. My mom bought me a jewelry kit and told me that I needed to "get a life" and start doing something instead of reciting the latest Nick Jr. show... ha. So she challenged me to make her a piece "by tomorrow"... since then it's been a blur!

There are so many nice things in the Etsy shop, some of my favorites are:

Pearl, Natural Shell and Crystal Necklace and Earrings Set

Wire Wrapped Cobalt Blue Crystal Earrings

I was lucky enough to be able to review:

Pastel Sparkle Butterfly Princess Klip. This adorable klip would work well for young and old. Beautiful on a bride, bridesmaid or flowergirl.

The delicate feathered butterfly is embellished with swarovski crystals, subtle glitter and has a hair clip in the back that is covered with ribbon. We have also included a no-slip hair grip on the clip. The butterfly measures 3 1/2 inches at the widest point and is 2 inches long from butterfly body to end.

My review:

http://www.etsy.com/shop/thejulreebox.) We have three people in our household, two of us like butterflies one of us is petrified of them. That person would be my husband; he’s afraid of two things butterflies and peacocks. It’s funny to see him freeze when a butterfly flutters past him, my daughter knows this and when she laid eyes on this beautiful clip she couldn’t wait to make her father squirm! He came in from work my daughter charged him, he thought he was going to get a hug she flashed the butterfly and the look on his face was priceless! What a wuss!

Back to the clip… It really is a beautiful clip; it’s so delicate and pretty. The clip is strong which I like; it stays in my daughter’s hair without any issue. This is a hand crafted clip made by a mother and daughter so it has meaning to me, it’s crafted with love and it shows. I love doing my daughter’s hair, I always wanted a Barbie head when I was a kid to style her hair, I was given a Farrah Fawcett head. It’s was like getting a lettuce patch kid instead of a cabbage patch kid. Anyway, I love doing her hair and this is the perfect finishing touch to make her hair stand out.

My Review:

We like snacks, who doesn’t? What we really like are things that aren’t normal, snacks that go against the grain, a snack that thinks outside of the box.
The snacks from Funkychunky (http://www.funkychunkyinc.com/) do just that. Sure you can have popcorn, pretzels and chocolate for a snack. But why eat them separate when you can have them all together in one delicious snack!
We fell in love with the Chip-Zel-Pop snack, it was wicked good.

They have all the salty goodness of pretzels and potato chips with the sweet pop of chocolate. It was nirvana in a bag. I had to pry it from my husband to try it, he growled at me when I asked to try it! He relented and moved onto the Candy Cane Popcorn I knew better than to ask, next to cinnamon his other love is peppermint. Needless to say he was impressed with Candy Cane Popcorn; it was a little taste of Christmas in June. This is really good popcorn, it’s not boring it’s different and different in a good way. If you’re tired of boring snacks visit Funkychunky and give them a try.

Knot Genie - Review (And a Giveaway)

About the Knot Genie (from the website)

The magic trick behind the Knot Genie™ is one we are happy to reveal. It all has to do with the different lengths of teeth on the brush. When brushing, they bend just right, to gently untangle the hair. And because of this lack of stress, the hair's cuticle stays unharmed... revealing the smoothest, shiniest hair you've ever seen.

Handles like a dream. The fact that The Knot Genie isn't like traditional hair brushes goes way beyond the bristle side. Its unique cloud-shaped top fits the palm nicely, whether you're right or left handed. Which means it feels more like an extension of your hand than a grooming tool. And also means the brushing process is far more comfortable, gentle, and most importantly, done quickly. Voila!

My Review:

I’ve said it before my daughter has a birds nest for hair. She’s a combination of Amy Winehouse, Snooki and Marge Simpson. It’s big and messy! When I was given the chance to try the Knot Genie (http://www.knotgenie.com/) I thought alright I’ll try it but it won’t work. She’ll still scream and I’ll not be able to have a child with nice hair. Boy was I wrong!
It not only works my daughter wanted to comb her hair! She actually wanted to comb her hair! I was dumbfounded, shocked, amazed and giddy! She had no knots, none, nada, zip, zilch. Her hair was silky smooth and beautiful. This comb is a god send; this comb should be given a Nobel Peace Prize. I’m not kidding, in the pantheon of inventions this is up there with the telephone, the car and air conditioning.
I’ve been struggling with my daughter’s hair for the past several years, she’s a sweater and a drooler and it gets in her hair and clumps it together, it’s gross and makes combing her hair a nightmare.

I’ve had luck with detanglers but the knots keep coming back and having to constantly wash and condition and use detangler to comb her hair is a chore, she hates it, I hate it and my husband hates it. Thank god for this little life saver. If you or your child has a problem with knots buy this brush for $19.99 it is the best investment you can make. I’d pay triple and I’d do it with a smile on my face, I can’t think of anymore glowing adjectives to describe this little wonder. It is that good.

My daughter graduated kindergarden!

I can't believe it, she has grown up so fast. I know people say it all the time (that kids grow up so fast) but it is so true! My big girl! Congratulations!

Sesame Place!

My family was invited to enjoy a day at Sesame Place and to experience the NEW Neighborhood Street Party at Night.

What is the Neighborhood street party? (Info from the website)

The Neighborhood Street Party at Night!
Each night from June 18 through September 4, the “Neighborhood Street Party” parade will be transformed with light elements. During the nighttime performances, lights throughout the parade route and on the parade floats will immerse the audience in a light show, which is synced with the parade’s musical score—providing a great overlay to an already exhilarating parade.

Night Time Parade Debut: June 18th at 9:00pm

My daughter just adored to bouncing pad, she would have stayed in there all day if they let her! This was her favorite in the park.

On Saturday we had the chance to go to Sesame Place in Langhorn. Sesame Place review  is a park we’ve attended a few times and we’re looking forward to having a fun time on a beautiful Saturday. The weather was warm, the sun was out and we were there for rope drop.  The park opened promptly at 10 am and we were off!
We made our way to the tea cups, a ride my daughter loves to ride because my husband spins the cups like he’s mad at them! My daughter loves getting flung back and forth, she cackles like a hyena and some of our favorite pictures from Disney World are of her on the tea cups. We were the first ones on the ride; we were the only ones on the ride! It was neat we had the tea cups all to ourselves.

My daughter picked her cup and we piled in, the ride was just about ready to start when the attendant came over and told my husband the only way he could ride the ride was by putting our camera bag to the side. Well that’s not happening, we paid a lot and I mean a lot of money for our camera and we weren’t about to just let it sit there unattended. My husband got off the ride and watched us; this is something he had to do a lot (he had to hold my handbag as well, no handbags allowed on rides either).

This rule must be for our "safety" but out of all of the parks we have visited all across the US we have never come across a rule like this. (this also must be a new rule, or an old rule that are now enforcing because we have been to Sesame Place many many times, and have never had a problem) At Universal Studios, they don’t allow bags on the Men in Black ride, but they give you a free locker to store your things in. Disney doesn’t seem to mind you riding with bags either, my husband has been on Space Mountain with a bag and has had no issues. I don’t think this is a good idea, I mean our fun was hampered because we couldn’t experience the rides as a family, I rode the few rides they have with my daughter and my husband stood on the outside looking in.

The evening parade was great, lots of large floats and fun had by all (unfortunately we do not have any pictures, we eventually had to put the camera and my handbag in the car in order to be able to finally ride the rides together as a family). I loved the Cookie monster cookie "float". What a great parade!
We still managed to have a good time even though my husband was our designated bag holder . Thankfully my handbag matched his outfit so he looked good! It’s probably the last time we can really enjoy Sesame Place and I’m grateful that we were able to go. My daughter is growing up so fast that Sesame Street isn’t a part of her life anymore; I wanted one more opportunity to see her enjoy the park and the characters that meant so much to me and my husband when we were growing up.

One last piece of advice to the powers that be the park needs MORE GUY SMILEY! He is a my favorite character :)

Pros:

Location, Twilight Tickets (they are only $33!), Lots of stuff for kids to do, Great Parade, Large water park.

Cons:

Bag Policy. That is all everything else is wonderful!

I would recommend going to sesame place with your family but don't bring a bag, unless you are willing to leave it while you ride rides.

The Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con

The event, which will feature more than 300 celebrities, comic book creators and great guests, will be held June 17-19.
We visited on “Kids' Day” the program with face painting, balloons, other fun activities specially designed for children.
I had the opportunity to attend the Wizard World event at the Philadelphia Convention Center on Sunday. This is an event that my husband has attended before but I never had the chance to go and I thought it would be fun to get a deeper peek into his world.
I was amazed at how many people was there that early on a Sunday, we were there for the opening of the Con and the line to get in was long. I had a good time trying to figure out who the costumed attendees were, some were easy some were obscure and some had on costumes that were not too flattering. This is nerd nirvana according to my husband, my people as he likes to say.
There were booths and tables set up for people to sell all kinds of things like comics, figures, t-shirts, artwork, swords and do it yourself resin movie props that you can paint yourself. It’s a lot to soak in for a first timer; I had to keep a quick pace with my husband who bounced from table to table looking for anything Boba Fett that he might not have. It can make your head spin, I’d look down at the map for a second look up and he was gone. He was a little bummed because he couldn’t go on Friday like he normally would and was worried all the good things would be gone before he could get there. Sadly, he came away empty handed. Not like he needs anything anyway, he has no more room in his cave even the ceiling is covered!

Along with the sellers there are also celebrities there for meet and greets. We saw a few people I recognized and a few who I had no idea who they were. Some of the people we saw were Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca from Star Wars), Lou Ferrigno (the Incredible Hulk), Brian O’Halloran (Gil Hicks suitor #3 in Mallrats or what he’s really known for Dante Hicks in Clerks), former WWF wrestler Tony Atlas to name just a few. Later in the day Billy Dee Williams was making an appearance as was Adam West and Burt Ward. We then made our way around the section where the artists were. They had all sorts of art work for sale for some very reasonable prices. You’re getting sometimes one of a kind pieces of art for a few dollars, and there was some really amazing art. My husband kept saying he wished he had more wall space.

If you came with a child they had a special section for kids my daughter was able to get her face painted and had a balloon animal made. She was excited about getting her face painted and the fact that it was free was nice, it really made her happy and she was proud to let everyone know she got a princess crown painted on her. As we were wandering around looking for my husband we came across a group of pirates, they really had elaborate costumes, it looked as if they just walked off the set of the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie! I tried to get my daughter to take a picture with them but she’s in that phase where she doesn’t want her picture taken and when we take it she looks like a zombie. I hope she grows out of this phase quickly!
There was a roaming Chewbacca complete with a broken C-3PO on his back! This guy was huge! And his costume was spot on; he even roared like Chewbacca it was really funny. My daughter wanted no parts of him, he was rather large and intimidating so I’ll let that one go. All in all we had a fun time. From seeing all the celebrities and collectibles and art it is a very visual event. It can be overwhelming for a first timer thankfully I had a seasoned veteran with me to show me the ropes. We had a good time and I look forward to attending again next year.

Did I mention Kids 10 and under are free at Wizard World? Yes!

LaVaque Tweezers - Review

About LaVesque Tweezers (from the Website)

LaVaque Tweezers stands behind its motto " Beauty requires Precision™" promising extreme accuracy with a kiss of Extravagance. Our tweezers are here to stay and we are determined to make a significant mark. With low overhead and the Best Tweezers in the industry we can strongly say it is time the public can buy a professional tweezer that is affordable. We stand behind our tweezers with the Best Guarantee:You Break'em, You Dull'em, We Replace'em ™. No Questions Asked. When you hold these tweezers in your hand you will be convinced you have a professional, quality made tweezer that is trusted pluck for pluck.

LaVaque Enterprises LLC first gained its popularity in the Diamond Industry, under our sister company LaVaque Tools. In August of 2006, the LaVaque Head & Shank tweezers became a new innovation for setting diamonds. Featured in multiple magazines and boasted as INSTORE Magazines May's Hot List of Business-Boosting Products of 2007 these tweezers are currently being distributed to over six of the top jewelry tool companies in the industry. LaVaque continues to be an influence in the Diamond Industry with new patents and products coming to market.

My Review:

People who know me know that clean and maintained eyebrows are important to me. I want to look my best, and good eyebrow grooming is a must for me.  I currently use an ok tweezer it is not the cheapest tweezer out there but I am not the biggest fan of my current tweezer. So when I had the chance to review a LaVaque Slanted Tweezers I jumped on it. I was able to try the matte finish tweezer, the tweezer has a matte finish for non-slip grip, ultra-thin tips that easily lift the hair, soft-tension, and specially engineered to reduce strain on your fingers and is light weight.

This tweezer is much nicer than my old tweezer, (I don't even use that tweezer anymore). This tweezer was slanted, and sharpened just the way I like it.  I loved the non-slip grip, so there was no accidental tweezing my skin (yes it is painful to slip with a tweezer, and yes I have done this before). The tweezers are made for professionals so they are quality tweezers that do what they promise.  This will surely be traveling with me on my California trip next week.

They also have beautiful tweezers with Swarovski crystals, they offer many colors that would make great gifts the crystal tweezers are $29.99.

And remember when you are choosing the color of your tweezer, LaVaque Tweezers will donate $3.00 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation when you purchase the pink Tourmaline slanted tweezers.

I will surely be back to LaVaque Tweezers, my mother would love a pink Swarovski crystals tweezer.

The plain tweezers retail for $20.00. That is a great price! You will never have to buy another pair of tweezers again, what a great deal.

“You Break’em, You Dull’em, We Replace’em. No Questions Asked” What a great slogan.
