Le'Cellier as a signature restaurant?

2 credits for soup and pretzel bread?! Are you serious?! Le'Cellier as a signature restaurant? Really? I realize most of us in the Disneyknow already know about this. Some agree, some disagree. All I know is all of a sudden it made it easier to get dinner ressies! I like the idea of it being easier to get into, most people won't want to use 2 dining credits here, I don't blame them. It's a fantastic restaurant, my families favorite but is it the California Grill? Is it Jiko's? Is it Citricos? Not really, it's a nice enough restaurant but it lacks that wow factor that most signature restaurants have. It pains me to say this but it's still the same Le'Cellier it's been since it changed from a cafeteria style lunch place to the most popular restaurant in Central Florida!

It's always been a hot button topic on most Disney discussion boards about just going to Le'Cellier, a lot of people will tell you it's not worth the hype and others will tell you if you can get a ressie get it! Kill if necessary!  I'm in that camp, we like it there and they have distinction of being the only restaurant we've eaten at every time we've visited the World (12 times total.) We're moving out of a dining plan family and into a cash paying one, the dining plan just isn't worth it anymore. Too much food, too many snacks, we like to eat but sometimes we feel like all we do is eat and our trips revolve around eating. I get the popularity of Le'Cellier, we're card carrying fans, but is it really worth 2 credits? No. And a lot of fans now will really have to consider eating there at all, with the bump up to a signature restaurant came a bump in prices making it a tough choice. You've gotta blow people away if you want to call yourself a signature dining experience, you're good....real good but 2 credits good? I don't think so.

I am on the fence about it being signature dining. Their food is magnificent, but I am not sure this was the right move. Oh how I love their Filet and cheddar cheese soup though!
