Sweet Alexis Bakery - Review (And a Giveaway)

About Sweet Alexis: (From the website)

Over 12 million people have life threatening food allergies in the United States. In the past 5 years children with peanut allergies have doubled. There is no known cause. There is no known cure. Life threatening food allergies are now considered an epidemic and yet there is still little understanding.
My daughter, Alexis, has multiple “life threatening” food allergies to the following: All dairy products and derivatives of dairy, eggs, shellfish, all nuts, including tree nuts and peanuts, mustard and cherries.

My goal is to increase awareness and understanding of children with food allergies. My dream is that families affected by life threatening allergies can shop with ease and even take our kids out for a muffin or treat at a local shop or restaurant.
I envision the “Alexis Friendly” symbol on all products that are egg free, dairy free, and nut free so shopping and life in general can be made easier for families like ours.

My Review:

We received a bunch of goodies from Sweet Alexis (http://sweetalexis.com/), breads and cookies were everywhere! Ginger cookies, chocolate chip cookies, shortbread cookies, zucchini bread and banana

bread. What that equates to in my house is about one night’s worth of snacks due to my husband’s bottomless stomach. (just kidding! :)

Just to let you know all of the products are made in a dedicated kitchen that is free of peanuts, eggs, tree nuts and dairy. What that means is that they are also made without those products. If you have or anyone in your family has allergies to any of these you don’t have to worry about giving them these snacks. What they lack is allergy causing ingredients, what they don’t lack is taste.

We gobbled everything up, but the clear winner was the banana bread. My husband took a small piece and instantly claimed it as his. He wasn’t sharing and that was it, he later relented and we all got a taste a small taste but a taste. I was also able to share the cookies with a coworker with food allergies , it was nice that we could all have the sweet treat. If you or anyone you know isn’t able to have any desserts due to severe food allergies visit Sweet Alexis, all the taste minus the issues.
